Indeed, but it depends on how you define "sorted". I'd have thought all parties would want to keep the board as it is until every "i" has been dotted and every "t" crossed on the paperwork. Having said that, I guess that could all be completed tonight.

The big sponsorship (Standard Chartered) is down to Purslow. I'd imagine he and Ayre have collaborated on things like kit deals, and Ayre has done a lot to revamp the club shop and the mail order side of things, all of which matters as well. I would be hopeful that they'll both be kept on.

Isn't Ayre the genius tapping into the Far East to drive up revenue streams?

Selling the naming rights to stadium could easily finance up to 30% of the total building costs and would be a smart move.

Broughton has come out of this saga with an extra 500k & his reputation intact.

His handling of this affair has been extremely good, from start to finish.

He's basically backed H&G into a corner whilst ensuring they had enough rope to hang themselves.

Also, special mention to that fan who wound up "Hicks minor" enough to provoke the outburst & get him removed. Had he not done this situation may well have played out differently.

It is incredible that Tom Hicks' ill-judged email and his subsequent resignation from the board served ultimately to leave H&G in a position where they had lost the balance of power in the boardroom. With hindsight that was an email exchange of historic importance for LFC.
