Stevie Nicol was an incredible player, and always gave you reassurance that everything would be okay. Bit of an annoying bell as a pundit now though.
He talks such bollocks at times. I'd swear he's been half cut on air once or twice...

Surely Steve Nicol gets a shout for RB ahead of Babel?

It's true that he played more on the right than on the left. I start from the view that as our best ever all-rounder (IMO of course) he has to be in somewhere, and I slot him in at LB because he did play there reasonably often and because in my view there are other outstanding candidates for RB, and for the wide midfield positions where he also played (not to mention CB where he spent a season during which we set some kind of record for fewest goals conceded), but not so many outstanding candidates for the other fullback slot, though Robbo could well get the nod if he keeps on the way he's going.
Yes. Kenny and Souness and Jockey used to tease the English lads about Scotland being superior all the time... Then Steve Nicol arrived and undid all of their good work (per somebody's autobiography).
Didn't McAteer actually get called Double-Trigger for a while, coz he was even thicker again?
Grobbelaar
Trent Hansen VVD Robertson
Gerrard Souness
Suarez Dalglish Barnes
Rush
The fucking great thing is that half that team are here right now.Going with balance because otherwise it would be nine forwards and VVD. This would beat any side in the history of footy. We don't need a keeper, he'd only be watching
TAA
VVD
Hansen
Robbo
Gerrard
Souness
Molby
Dalglish

Imagine getting the outfield players virtually perfect in every position, only to recklessly throw it all away with the keeper.
???I think we all need to decide on how many players are in a team first...
Dreamy said all time top 10 players and people are naming 11.

And people listened to him?!?Modo switched it to best team somewhere along the line.

Yeah 90% of responses so far have featured line-ups rather than 10 best players. You make it sound like they took instruction from him. It was more organic than that.
He did win though.

My best 10 is something like..............
Dalglish
Keegan
Souness
Hansen
Gerrard
Suarez
Rush
Van Dijk
Salah
Mané (or Barnes)
For me Keegan was the talisman who transformed us from relatively successful side into the top team in Europe and began our 17 season domination of the English league. Fowler and Owen were merely brilliant. That's really close to mine. I'd have both Barnes and Mane in at the expense of Jocky, probably because I was too young to really appreciate him.
Fair enough. I'm obviously older and remember Hansen's whole career and for me he's still our best ever defender. If Van Dijk has another 2 seasons at his current level I might need to reassess this.
I also always get stuck choosing between Keegan, Fowler and Owen. I loved them all in completely different ways.
Modo switched it to best team somewhere along the line.
A good test would be to force yourself to pick a team to win a match, where if it were to lose then you get executed. The players from that team are your all time top 10.
Oh damn, I'm not sure why I thought you posted that.Modo didn't do shit.
LOL, it's alright we're getting old.Oh damn, I'm not sure why I thought you posted that.

Hahaha. The average age of the site is probably 35+ now.
If we exclude Judge & Pesam, we're probably around 32 mind you.
