He'll be cheap and it'll give us a laugh whilst we lose.

Ho ho ho. He's a laugh isn't he. Just the character modern football is missing. A misunderstood genious.

No he's not. He's a Grade A fucking bellend.

No thanks.

I would, Balotelli and Suarez would be devastating partnership, that and I believe Balotelli belongs in the premier league and I don't want him to go anywhere else, especially not Tottenham. Maybe Kenny could tame Balotelli's temper a bit, although saying that he can't even handle Andy Carroll.

You would need to employ some sort of nanny to keep an eye on him. Someone like Matron from the Carry On movies.

I've wanted this lad at Anfield for ages (2009, 2009, 2010)...

I've posted before about thinking it'd be a good idea to have bid for Balotelli this season. he's a cocky fucker but has all the potential in the world at 18.

He's had a difficult relationship with Mourinho since he's been at Inter and has complained about playing time at Inter. Arguably he's more suited to the physical side of the premiership (he's a strapping big player) and can play either left wing forward or preferably (according to him) up front. Another Babel type player in that sense, but with 100 times the confidence/arrogance.

He'd be a great addition for us, playing to the left of Torres and offering us a big powerful back-up for the striking role. I'd love for us to buy him before this tournament kicks off.

I was thinking about the rumoured Petrov deal this morning and how it might free up money from the Masher deal to spend elsewhere, towards a new striker/wing forward - and it got me thinking of Balotelli again.

I've been banging his drum for the last 18 months now during which time he's shown flashes of mercurial genius mixed with petulance and ill discipline, and he's still only 19! He's really got it all this lad, pace, power, bundles of natural skill (the sort you can't coach into someone) and bucketloads of self-confidence. He can play through the middle or just to the left or right of the main striker.

In a way he reminds me of C.Ronaldo at the same age with his confidence, lightning pace and trickery, but perhaps what he lacks (at the moment) in mental strength he makes up for with already being the finished physical article (unlike a rather coltish Ronaldo at the same age).

Given Masher is likely to head to Inter this could be the best time to be negotiating for the transfer of Balotelli (a player Inter are obviously prepared to let go) whilst we hold the upper hand. The differential would likely be 8-10m or so.

The potentials there no doubt. He's got everything Neil; Lightning pace, brute power, sublime natural skill, huge self-confidence etc

As LTW and I have both alluded to, he's Ronaldo-esque in terms of potential and style (with more natural power at this stage).

As DMac has mentioned, he lacks Ronaldo's utter dedication to realise that talent. But that's not to say it won't happen, he is only 19 after all. He needs a wily old manager who can nurture his talent whilst keeping his ego in check. Expectations would be high here given a 20m ish fee, but he'd likely play to the left or right of Torres so wouldn't be relied upon for goals.

People forget, as brilliant as Ronaldo turned out, it took Fergie at least a couple of years to "mature" him.

With regards strikers, I've thought for a while now that Balotelli is the most naturally blessed "potential" superstar out there.

yup ... I've been there with you. I'm not sure he'll ever reach the heights he's capable of because of his 'issues' - but he's still got the potential to be one of the best.

We shouldnt be anywhere near this lad. He'll go back to Italy and continue with his issues.

No one will 'tame' Balotelli.

He will continue to do what he does until he himself decides to stop.

As for us signing him, it's a bit of a ludicrous debate, isn't it?

I'd love to sign him, he's scored more goals than our entire strikeforce hasn't he? (Bellamy, Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll)

He's great entertainment for the Football Focus loving berks, but if you like football, or even humanity, you have to conclude that's he's an absolute fuckwit.

Someone described him as the Marmite of soccer on a show I was watching today which is a joke.
He's a selfish, cocksure prick who's wages should be taken back off him for his contribution to football.

He's clearly a nutjob, but Mancini was a fucking idiot for not subbing him at half-time yesterday when he was already walking a tightrope. He was always going to get sent off.

mancini deserves everything he gets putting his faith in an utterly unpredictable player. balotelli should be bombed out of the club, your manager has trusted you and put his reputation on the line for you and that's how you repay him.
the second jose arrives balotelli will be out the door.

Am I the only one who cant really see his shining talent?? Any amazing skills?.... nah.... lightning fast??.... nah, awesome movement finishing and shooting? .... ermmm..

complete fucking lunatic .... OH Yes...

I like him because he is funny but... a liability.

Yeah but.... I dont know but I think lately the hyperbole has definitely skewed reality somewhat. For exotic strikers from foriegn leagues like Italy you could hardly say he is a Vieri or a Battistuta or.... you get the picture. Personally I prefer it when my super talented strikers look a little bit more talented.

He is shola ameobi with hype and a silly lifestyle.
