Well, who is he supposed to play in their stead?

The main problem we have right now is that no-one is scoring goals. I don't really see any solutions elsewhere in the squad.

I guess the one benefit of maybe giving guys like Ojo and Tex a go is that at least it'll be a little bit more interesting for us to watch because it's new. We know there is no Michael Owen or Steven Gerrard in waiting in the youth team though.

I don't buy the no solutions excuse. There's no excuse for sticking with shite that isn't working. Allen has played well of late but continues to fall behind three players who are underperforming - where's the reward for "form"? The young lads have done well, Moreno is a fucking disaster while Smith has looked promising. Flanagan comes back and puts in a great performance, etc.

Let's play the cup team in the league and swap them over. Our midfield is horrible to watch. No wingers or width, inevitably, and no one that can dominate a midfield. Play anyone else, we've got to that stage

The league is gone; the cups - we're still in them. Don't sabotage them cups!

We've got 34 points. I'd play the best team in the league regardless. At least for a while.
If we get to the later stages of the Europa league I agree.

He is very rusty or tired, true. He still puts a shift in though, & we need to get him back to his best asap, & dropping him won't help that. I doubt it'll be long before he finds his match form again.

That said I suppose I'd like him fully fit for cup games now so a rest may help.

Fuck, I don't know.

I'm pretty sure he's still playing through pain. Just look at these last few games - pulled at 76' against Norwich, and then missed the Stoke game through injury. Pulled again after 66' in this game, and I suspect he'll probably miss the weekend game as well. Klopp should just limit his minutes in the league and use him in the cup games - the games that really matter now.

38 points should be enough to stay up I reckon. Not going to relax until we have 40 though.

I thought about this yesterday. The worst thing is I wont "relax" until we actually have got 40 points. It might sound crazy but we're capable of losing to just about anyone.

Just realized that if we beat West Ham this weekend, then the rest of the games after mid-February are all cup games.

18 Feb - EL - Round of 32: Augsburg
2? Feb - FA Cup 5th round: Blackburn (if we get there)
25 Feb - EL - Round of 32: Augsburg
28 Feb - COC - Final: Man City

The league games are now a bloody distraction. This is like 2011/2012 all over again.

Think we'll lose to West Ham on Tuesday in the FA cup replay

I dunno yet. If Klopp uses the same U21 / fringe seniors hybrid team, then perhaps - because we'll have problems scoring again. If we drafted in a couple of better seniors, then we'll have a chance. Skrtel, Coutinho, Origi and maybe even Sturridge* might have a chance to play a part as well, and any two of these guys could come in and help the team. At the very least, it means we won't see fucking Enrique on the bench again.

* definitely jinxed it now

He's not blameless. How much fucking evidence does he require to let him know that he cannot count on the likes of Lucas, Lallana, Sakho and Firmino as a striker?
Can is playing horribly, Henderson is not fit. Lucas is fucking shit, as is Sakho. And yet he still keeps playing Can, Henderson, Lucas and Milner in the same team. WHEN IT NEVER WORKS.

He needs to change quicker. There's going to be a very different line-up against Sunderland, because I can see Lucas, Sakho, Moreno and Henderson all dropped. But he should have done that earlier. Did ONE person think we'd win last night when they saw the team? Nope.
Nah, we should have won last night, if we had a bit more composure we would have, but what is the man supposed to do when his best goal scorers are injured? As for Sakho, who should he play instead at the moment? Toure?

Lucas and Can isn't shit. Henderson clearly isn't even close to be match fit. Lucas, Can and Milner must do some of the work Henderson do because of that.

-----------------------------Lucas-----------
----------------Allen----------------Can------------

Probably our best midfield combination at the moment.

The thing is they have us all figured out. Everyone knows Lucas is no threat, they don't mind standing off him. Milner, Lallana, Henderson are very much the same, stick close to them and the ball goes back. They don't mind our 2 fullbacks getting the ball because they can't cross.

The only few players with any threat and are a little more unpredictable are Firmino, Can and Ibe. That's why these guys have been our main goal threats for the past many games.

We need to mix it up, throw in some young players and give them a go. Let our opponents have something else to think about. Afterall what can we lose at this point?

No. Lucas and Allen can never be a good midfield combination.

----------Can-----------
--Allen--------Milner--

And possibly even Brannagan for Milner. Such a shame about Hendo, we really need his energy and creativity in the team, he is one of our better players, but the heel injury is rendering him ineffective at the moment.

Henderson looks wrecked.
Hes been thrown back in to mitigate but fuck that we arent winning the league are we. Let him rest, maybe play him in the Europa. Thats our key to the champions league this year.

Have you seen the sides in the Europa League? We haven't a fucking chance of winning it.

Caulker. And he should play Benteke too; Firmino isn't a striker. And we should not have won last night, even the normally partisan Echo has torn that side and the performance to shreds, slating everyone involved.

Remember when we used to wonder which of our players Madrid or Barca would poach. Now I wonder if any of them would get it the Crystal Palace squad.

I'm not trying to shine any positive light on to the team, but if we knew how to score we'd have won, we had all the ball and their left hand side was gaping, big if mind. Yep, I forgot about Caulker, mad he wasn't even on the bench.
