I'm not ready to throw Ox under the bridge yet. Give him time. He was shit today but I still have high hopes for him.

Chamberlain's problem isn't his skill level or his athleticism or enthusiasm it's his stupidity. He manages to make the wrong decision or play the wrong pass nearly every time. Plenty of endeavour but very little quality.

A victim of the obsession with physical specimen at the expense of thinking and clever athletes.

It's like we're trying to play attacking free flowing football with lots of goals, that leaves us open to counter attacks, except we've forgotten to play attacking free flowing football and score the goals.

I think we're jumping the gun here. We played a bus parking team last weekend and now played Leicester with a B team.
Despite the result against Burnley I saw a lot of positives and I'm just waiting for Mane to return and Coutinho to get back in shape. I'd sub Klavan for Lovren and play the same team we did against Burnley.

Don't know what to say... We are in a really low run of form right now – and that's despite playing very well in patches! It's just the usual culprits: finishing not clinical enough, then we concede a softest possible goal, the heads drop, rinse and repeat. Will we get out of this rut? Absolutely, I have no doubt about that. But in the meanwhile a lot of damage can be done to our season's prospects – I worry about the game on Saturday, this has echoes of January games against Southampton: no Mane, uncomfortable opponent, many players low on confidence, we lose in the Cup and barely escape with a draw in the league.

On individual level, I liked what I saw from Grujic and Robertson, Coutinho and Wijnaldum were also good in the first half. Oxlade was awful, really unsure of where to run and what to do; too early to give up on him but so far this is not working out as planned at all. It's too bad that now the young players will get far less playing opportunities because we crashed out early.

Ox is the English Markovic. Bloody headless chicken performance and did well nothing to change my opinion that he was a pointless signing.

I think it's more likely that when the first defender makes a mistake the next closest defender compunds that mistake rather than rectifies it which makes the opposition chance all the easier.

Lucas was not a defensive midfielder. He was a nothing, by the time Benitez had finished with him.

Meanwhile Barcelona has beaten Eibar 6:1 with 4 goals from Messi and Luis Suarez never leaving the bench. But the most interesting stat was possession: 50%-50%. So Barca, who invented "death by possession" football are showing that you can win in a different way; meanwhile in our first half we had more than 70% possession with nothing to show for it. I really think Klopp needs to find another plan to use against teams like Leicester that are happy to give up territory and soak up pressure.

We absolutely battered Arsenal on the counter, why can't we figure out how to use this strengths more against other teams, even those who prefer to play on the counter themselves? Sure, it can lead to a bit of an "Italian rapier duel" with both teams attacking with small numbers and looking for the smallest opportunity to catch each other on the break, but maybe that's the way forward until we get VVD and 2 reliable full-backs who won't give away silly goals in every single game. I think this Saturday's game against Leicester should be the last chance Klopp should give to his current set-up – they know exactly what they are going to get from Leicester; now if the senior players show they have enough quality to outplay this kind of team away from home then maybe we can keep going with this, otherwise time for a new plan.

Against the mighty Eibar? What sorcery is this??

I must confess, I hadn't heard of Eibar until a minute ago but I'm sure they're fucking ace and I'm interested in their coach and defence.

Guess what, we've just drawn Burley at home and got our assess whopped by the mighty Leicester without 4-5 first team players. Barca allowed Eibar to attack them, even at home, and reaped the rewards. I'd like us to do the same, sometimes.

Please understand what I'm trying to say – something is off with out balance at the moment. Even in the 1st half, which Klopp deemed "great," I thought we committed to many numbers forward and too many players chose a safe option just when a risk was called for. Going to Leicester and having 70+% possession and a dozen shots off target is NOT necessarily a sign of strength.

Yes. But Eibar would get thumped by Burnley. They'd probably get thumped by Aston Villa. Wait a while and return to this with much better examples.
