You don't think when rafa signed a lucrative contract he was expected to have a plan with timescales?
aren't long contracts part and parcel of the game? anyway regardless of having a 5 year plan (or not) he never used it as an excuse (not that I remember him making an excuse). I don't think a league challenge should be expected until the manager has HIS plans and players in place, that sliding scale changes if the manager is given funds to make wholesale changes and that wont ever happen at liverpool.

I think rijkaard has a different philosophy and would take a totally different approach rafa has a similar approach to gh, the last 10 years almost blur together. if rafa goes I want fresh, new and exciting ideas.

Ossie Ardiles?

Ah, come on - his 2-3-7 formation at Spurs was the very definition of fresh, new and exciting.

Glenn Hoddle would jump at a second chance of big-time management.
So would a lot of other shite out of work managers.

I want Jose but can't see him being a realistic option for manager of LFC..not this summer atleast.

Rijkaard intriques me though.

Space Cadet Hoddle? Good grief.

i'm really not sure about rijkaard, it's a big difference between barca with ronaldinho in his pomp and a potless liverpool. how much coaching does a bunch of players like he had really need?

i think we need someone with a bit of grit, at the very least, like an o'neill or mourinho, as much as i dislike both of them.

I was joking.

Then again...

Lippi's a top class manager and albeit aging he'd be at the top of my list. Top man too.

Mourinho or Lippi would be ideal but its unlikley we could afford them. Of the realistic options it would be Rijkard Blanc or Laudrup in that order. Dont let O'Neil anywhere near the place 10 years of boring pragmatic managers is long enough thanks, he would probably bring Heskey back with him and thats all we need
