Word for word what I just received from a fellow red about 5 minutes ago:

"Also, heard from a very good source within LFC that we'll sold in 5 weeks. Middle eastern - wouldn't say who but reading between the lines it is the half brother (and richer!) Of the dude who bought man city. Gerrard and torres know and that's why they have said to decide after WC. Getting rid of rafa was a condition of new investor. Interesting!"

Please post all other conjecture, rumour and gossip in this thread.

We need cheering up, so I've tried to start us off with soemthing amazingly positive. No idea who the "source within LFC" is.

Isn't that fat Dunks 'exclusive' on KopTalk?

Fuck knows. It's the latest rumour sweeping around the City.

Like most of these "too good to be true" rumours, it's probably bullshit, but whatever.

It would be the only possible thing to stop the doom.

I truly hope your mate is in the know brendan, trouble is how many "mates" in teh know have been talking directly out there fucking holes over the last few years...

anyway ...

fingers crossed.

I've actually crunched the numbers on this one, and the accurate answer is: 99%

Ha ha "the City"

Gotham City ?

City of Compton ?

Seriously though, I'm allowing myself to be happy about this.

From TIA. Fits with Brendans pal, I suspect the same sauce......

So how do we all feel about this:

A group from Abu Dhabi buying the club?

The other half of the family that own Man City - starting bid of £490m, including assurances for an immediate start on the stadium and transfer funds.

The Premier League clearing the deal in principal, allowing one family (of parts of a family) to own 2 clubs in the same division.

Purslow and Ayre to stay at the club, Broughton to leave and be replaced by a permanently resident new Chairman.

Using NDA's a new manager is already selected and ready to be installed, working closely with Carragher to transition him into a full time coaching role.

All debts written off and finance for players until the stadium is completed, then the club running on a sustainable business model, similar to Arsenal but with contingent funds available to bring in superstar players.
Abu Dhabi see the north west as a sporting / football centre of excellence

They see us a potentially higher profile than City and their ability to expand the TV deal further around the globe and combat online streaming.

As the PL are not objecting to the deal, it adds credibility and the PL want further support from organisations that will strengthen the league, in comparison to Spain and Italy.

So, that's it. The news I've been waiting to post - the Chinese thing that I've mentioned before was wrong, I got it wrong. This is all based on my ITK contact, working out of London, in connection with Barclays. I've had firm confirmation from my ITK at RBS that something is definitely happening but they did not confirm Abu Dhabi, they did confirm the amounts and sustainability plan.

Additionally, I have no idea if Amanda Steveley is involved but I do know of a brokerage / fund management group in Mayfair, London having been out to gulf in relation to this deal.

I don't have a firm time scale for the close, I think things seem quite advanced. That's a personal feeling only. Again, personally I think Rafa going was the final hurdle to the deal being done. I think he was asked to leave because he'd indicated the he'd be prepared to talk to Inter, if there was uncertainty about his role at the club. I think it was mutual in every sense of the word and that Inter has been his destination of choice since the Hull match. I do not know who the next manager will be.

Finally, before today I had not seen Abu Dhabi mentioned in any despatches. It's a compelling prospect and I trust my source. Although, I'd be lying if I didn't say I had a gut feeling for Qatar first and Dubai second - I'm not covering my bases, just being honest. So unless anyone knows otherwise, Abu Dhabi looks likely to be it.

I hope I've been as upfront as possible and that Abu Dhabi is clear favourite.

Sounds like an small improvement to todays situation... I just cant believe that we are "out of shit" in just five weeks.... Would be to good.

Using NDA's a new manager is already selected and ready to be installed, working closely with Carragher to transition him into a full time coaching role. - Bloody Nora !!

All debts written off and finance for players until the stadium is completed, then the club running on a sustainable business model, similar to Arsenal but with contingent funds available to bring in superstar players. - "You're just too good to be true, can't take my eyes off of you"

They see us a potentially higher profile than City and their ability to expand the TV deal further around the globe and combat online streaming. - Well DUH !

As the PL are not objecting to the deal, it adds credibility and the PL want further support from organisations that will strengthen the league, in comparison to Spain and Italy.

that is way too good to be true...

Yes, but I posted anyway.

The thing is I know a lot of people get caught up in the doom and gloom of it all, but we're still Liverpool FC dammit, that's gotta count for something, our reputation across the worls is still huge. We're in the crap right now, I *know* someone is gonna step to the table and save us from this. We're too big for people to sit by and watch us sink.*

* I really hope that doesn't come back to bite me.

God, that would be fantastic!

Brendan, didn't you have a mate who worked for Barcap? This isn't the same one, I take it? Couldn't you check out this rumour with the Barcap mate? Surely he'd have heard something if there was any truth to it.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be Abou Diaby to Anfield for £8M

If this is true.. and carragher is set to blooded through..

then the manager will be Harry Redknapp.

He's in Ireland having a baby, well, his wife is anyway. It's not from him. His "news" is always bloody depressing anyway.

The Carragher stuff makes me believe it even less, to be honest. It sounds like the sort of "extra detail" added in to make it sound more credible, but has the opposite effect.
