Kuyt to Galatasaray for £10m?

His first touch is even more shit than before...he doesn't even get the chance to tackle after it.

I hope this isn't the end for our Dirk. He does seem off the pace all season. I want him to retire here and he's a legend in my eyes.

I loved watching him pop up all over the pitch last season exchanging positions with Suarez, Maxi and Raul.
I loved watching him give A.Cole a pasting every time we played Chelsea in the league and CL league.
I loved watching him get a few winners in the derby and his hatrick against united.
I loved how he gave his all and acted as a leader for us time and time again.

I love how he is an adopted scouser and loves the city and people who inhabit it.
I love how he is a very charitable person and does excellent work for the needy off the pitch.

For all these reason, I salute you Dirk. You career may be winding down a bit with us but You'll Never Walk Alone.

I've never really bought into the Dirk love-in. I guess I'm quite superficial in some respects because I think I only really fall in love with the edge-of-your-seat players.

I respect Kuyt for his contribution, his tireless efforts on the pitch and appreciate the fact that he seems to be a genuinely good guy off the pitch as well. I suppose I reckon I could just as easily do all of that if he didn't play for us anymore.

10M would be a great deal and even if we did piss it up all the wall... well, at least it'd be a new version of not quite up to scratch to observe and pick at.

It was purposely soppy. I love Dirk.

Oh and Squiggles you don't seem to post anything lately unless it's a snide 'funny' remark.

Get back to proper posting dude.

Kuyt has proved to be one of Liverpool's most consistent performers since his £10 million arrival from Feyenoord in 2006, where his mixture of excellent work ethics and goalscoring nous has helped endear him to the Anfield faithful.

However, since Dalglish's summer reshuffle, in which the likes of Stuart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson were added to January buys Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, Kuyt has found opportunities limited, and is worried about his situation with the European Championships approaching in the summer.

Kuyt is in line to play a key role in a strong Holland push, but with a lack of minutes at club level potentially harming his chances, Galatasaray are ready to offer regular playing time and significantly boost his £65,000-a-week wages.

That package would be attractive to the 31-year-old, but the sticking point is doing a deal with Liverpool, who would want a fee of around £15 million, for a player who only extended his contract last April.

Galatasaray would be willing to go up to the £10 million mark, and include further payments linked to their success in their Turkish Super Liga, which they current top ahead of Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

The key to any deal going through would be Liverpool's ability to find a suitable replacement, with Kuyt's fellow countryman Eljero Elia the only winger currently under consideration by Dalglish.

The Juventus flyer has struggled to adapt to life in Turin, and may be allowed to leave initially on loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

dirk is a good player but has too many dips over the course of a season and the red hot bursts of form that covers those dips. ideally we'll replace him with someone who is a little more consistent, that said is that person downing? if kuyt were played every game would he have no goals and no assists after half a season?

if the offer is genuine we should sell kuyt, wish him well and send him on his way.

Sell him. Build for the future. Maybe stick Sterling on the wing. That team isn't going to win anything so may as well ship out the old and bring in the new.

I'd agree, and I think most would, if you could trust we'd improve on him. I have me reservations though.

I'd agree but City just handed us our arse so we have to beat them to get there. I'm feeling dejected.

we need to keep the score respectable at their place and then finish the job at anfield.

Liverpool have rejected bids for Dirk Kuyt from Fiorentina and Roma.

The Dutch international – who scored the winner against Manchester United in yesterday’s FA Cup clash at Anfield after coming on as a substitute – is becoming increasingly frustrated at this lack of starts.

Kuyt is under contract at Anfield until 2013, but will seek talks on his future during the summer.

And the two Italian clubs head the queue to sign the 31-year-old, who has also just helped Liverpool reach the Carling Cup final.

Kuyt’s agent Rob Jansen said: “A lot of European clubs have firm interest in Dirk, and it is true there are Italian clubs among them. But Liverpool won’t let him leave at the moment.”

He'll leave this summer, along with Maxi.

^^^

He is no more than a bit player here now. Summer, after hopefully holding aloft another trophy or two, will be the right time.

It'd be his first trophy with us if he did.

Has Dirk ever scored an unimportant goal against a crap side?
