The team below would win the league.
------------------------------------ Reina -------------------------------------------

Arbeloa--------------Carra-------------Skrtel----------------Aurelio--------

Babel--------------Mascher-----------Gerrard-------------Riera----------
Blaszczykowski
------------------------------------Torres-----------------------------------

Subs; Kuyt, Keane, Alonso, Agger, Insua, Nemeth
Sell; Yossi, Pennant, Dossena
You obviously really rate Kuba.
I desperately wanted us to sign Arshavin instead of keane during the summer Whitey and I see Kuba as a younger, cheaper Arshavin.
How do you see that if the vast majority of people on here seem to think he is a winger?.

I no nothing about him by the way
He usually does play right wing but I reckon he is ideally suited to playing "in the hole" and then we can squeeze Babel on the right in the vain hope that one day he realises his potential.

Great.....5 goals in 3 years from midfield perfect for rafa!!!!!
Ha. How many assists does he have to be labelled "king of assists"?
To be honest, most of his assists in that youtube montage were followed by 30 yarders into the top corner. Hardly an assist in reality, but he was the last man to touch it before the scorer did the business......
As per Rosco's discussion with HC (?) the other week. Assists are not a statistic I would be signing players based on.
But he does look direct, tidy, and reasonably pacy. I would take a chance for £7 million.

He's exactly the type of player we need. A ball carrier/dribbler with pace who knows when to give it (hopefully).

The keeper is obviously warming up... there is one space left on that bench 😉

Alonso for mascher please

Right sides Rieria - decent enough player - worth about £8m - not world class, not very quick but has good skill and works reasonably hard. Haven't seen him track back an awful lot but I am sure Rafa will have him checked for trackbackability.

Another attacking supid signing this would be and sold within 2 years.

Alonso is in the form of his life man.
You don't want to be leaving him on the bench.
He's playing alright like, but.

He's called 'The king of assists' apparently

For a youtube clip he doesn't look very good at all.

I was decidedly unimpressed with his compilations when we were linked in the summer (I mean, how shit do you have to be when your youtube comps are rubbish?), but according to those articles his form has improved markedly this season, so maybe when these comp guys stop slacking, we'll be able to see his new shit.

Besides, I've never noticed Pesam rave about a player in the past and he doesn't seem the sort of fella to do it on a whim, so that makes me a little more hopeful (rightly or wrongly).

Ya but isn't it a bad start when the players we are getting linked to are relative unknowns.

I'm not saying I want a world beater but at least someone who is fairly well known in the game has been around and more importantly been producing the goods for a few years.

He looks promising yes, but Christ I could have put together a nice clip of Pennant skinning a few players and crossing the ball if I really had to.

If that clip is him at his best then no thanks. I'd rather stick with Babel or Kuyt out there and invest it in a lb.

In the current climate, any player who's been 'producing the goods for a few years' is not only likely to have already been snapped up, but probably also disagrees with Rafa's transfer budget.

Not a chance. With the attack-minded players selected Mascher would be essential to mop up opposition breakaways.

Yes ! Much preferable to the one-legged types you often come across.

you pegged me back there

I have seen 3-4 games of Borussia Dortmund this season.

This guy is very very pacy. A very good outlet to have especially on the counter. Right wing is his position.

Because Dortmund were afraid of incoming offers luring him away they offered him a contract extension until 2011 which he declined. A number of English clubs are after him but only we are mentioned. Manager Jurgen Klopp turned the midfielder into a striker which he enjoys. He is thankful for it because he thinks his new position suits him more due to his pace. But he also says that he has got to learn to score goals instead of only creating opportunites for others.

Not word for word but the important bits.

The part in which he confesses that he prefers to play up front worries me though.

Was playing Fifa 09 all day today on the hardest setting with Borussia Dortmund, trying to win the German Cup.

His name is that tricky, not even Martin Tyler attempts to say it.

Yepp I do.

Title says We are in the hunt for Kuba again.

He is not only one of the quickest players in the German Premier League but he is also one of the most popular; Dortmund's Polish International striker Jakub Blaszczykowski (23, 1 Goal/5 Assists).

Fearful that there will be offers from bigger clubs Manager Michael Zorc (46) wants this jewel to the club long term but in vain.

Contract extension refused - Liverpool are hunting Kuba again!

BILD (German newspaper - The Mirror) understands that the Pole (contracted until 2011) is at the top of the wish list of England's premier clubs. Last summer the Reds were hot on the trail of the International striker.

[To be continued after my dinner]
