QPR and Villa are similar level teams ? Villa currently in 2nd and QPR just above the relegation zone ? Yes, I know only 4 matches but the evidence is there. Villa will be a damn good mid-table / top-half side and QPR will be relegated.
They're not really "similar level teams", Villa have started the season well, QPR are one of the favourites for the drop already. One will probably finish midtable, the other in relegation. You may aswell say that every game outside the top 5 is against a "similar level team", it's too simplistic and wrong.

And last time out, we beat Spurs 3-0 away while City lost at home to Stoke. So. we're obviously streets ahead of those mugs, while Villa re going to win the World Cup...

Seen a lot of Markovic is shit posts, based on his first start producing a below average performance (in line with the rest of the team). So using this logic, is he world-class if he sets up a couple and grabs a goal against West Ham?

My knee jerk: Ballotelli is a dreadful signing that's against everything BR is trying to build at the club.

It's more about the difference between our performances.
We look a different team with Sterling in the team, as we did v Spurs and immediately when he came on. Whilst he's obviously a quality player, he's completely different from Lallana, Coutinho and Markovic, and that is what made the difference.
This. So much this. Writing off players happens so quickly on this forum its insane.
Interesting point - Do you not think he should maybe have a run of games to get him up to speed? Improve his match fitness and BR's style of play? I get that yours is a 'knee jerk' reaction so I assume you hope to be pleasantly surprised that you in time you might be proven wrong.
Knee-jerk. Hopefully wrong. Fear I'm right. And I can't stand the blind adulation of him before he's actually done anything for us. There's a weird cult of celebrity surrounding him that feels off to me.
I also worry about this, I don't think he's an awful signing (yet) but I struggle to see how he'll work in our system, he doesn't seem to be a runner, or a team player, he doesn't seem to make the right runs, and doesn't ever seem to actively get involved in our attacks, he just kinda strolls around whilst the attacks happen around him. I'll put that down to it being his first two games, him being slightly off the pace and not fully settled, and the fact I've been spoilt with two of the best strikers around in Suarez and Sturridge.
I know what you mean - I never got the hype with him. Hope he proves me wrong.
I don't think that's particularly knee-jerk. Balotelli has proven the type of player he is time and again. As Rodgers said, "it's a gamble", which you can sort of understand at the price we paid, but I'm far from convinced it's going to pay off.
