Klopps to Leave at the End of the Season

This, from his interview, is lovely. Just shows the humanity of the guy.

"I know there are kids out there when they run at my car after games and want to have signings and autographs and stuff like this – they never experienced a different manager since they are born. Only recently we met Dáire, our friend, I probably have to explain it to him as well, and I will, that’s no problem. I really will try to do all these things."

Klopp seems honest in his interview but still people are speculating about everything else. I think its just as he says it is, if not this would have been worded differently.
If you watch the full interview and come to any conclusion other than this is a totally honest resignation then you are probably an anti-vax loon

It is, but they do also stay sometimes especially when there isn't a plan for a successor in place. I'm hoping the announcement means we've already agreed something ahead of the Summer. Knowing these lot in charge though, I'd be just as unsurpassed if we're sat here in August watching an X Factor-like TV face off between Jose and Fat Sam.

Krawitz have been with Klopp since forever and Lijnders want to be a manager himself. I can see why they would leave as well.

Klopp was against the docu in the past... I wonder if that has any factor in it? I think the value was £10m to the club

If Lijnders wants to be a manager though they must have least discussed a successor, if only to rule him out.

The first time in my life I've been completely blindsided by a Liverpool manager leaving. Thank Christ we've got another few months of him

I am so fucking sad, but if anyone deserves this it's klopp. He made us relevant in the modern age. not just a cup team. Not sporadic half arsed title challenges. Actual fucking brilliance.

I hope he gets to leave with a few more medals

Gonna cry when he thanks the Kop one last time after our final home game of the season.

Would it not be better to wait till the end of the season?

All we're going to hear about now is the end of Klopp's era. Seems like strange timing given how well we're doing.

Always figured we'd slide back to being top 4 challengers once he left... hopefully we can win some stuff this year and end it all on a massive high.

State of me at the moment it will be every interview, every game, every time the top sings his song ....

He explains in the interview

As probably mentioned earlier, I'd say word was leaking out so the club and Klopp wanted to control the narrative

Other than the emotional attachment, our setup doesn't look right.
The recruitment team fucked off last season as well as technical director and we've had Schmadtke STILL in our books.
Now the most stable core of the management group is also going at the end of this season.
Fearing the worst tbh, even if FSG manage to get a feel good name like Xabi to take over, they'd have gigantic shoes to fill.

Do we think the players will have known since November?
Was just wondering that. I doubt it, I think it would have come out before now if they knew.
Wouldn't be surprised if he'd told the leadership group.
'm guessing they've put the news out now because it was about to break anyway and they wanted to get ahead of the narrative.

They made the right choice nine years ago.

Get fucked mate. The clubs not going to do a fucking documentary for 10m at the expense of one of greatest ever managers
I don't know, but the documentary has been in the news and then this. Why is FSG having discussions if Klopp's was against the docu?

I'm not too concerned..

Gutted yeh..

But it won't derail the season..

The team would have already knew..

I'm fairly certain the club would not have announced it either, without having a replacement lined up .

It will either need Xabi or Liverpool current number 2..

As number 2 has been ruled out

My Guess it will be Xabi and his team

Christ.. the Kop is going to be louder than when Gerrard retired.

Watched the interview. Same vibes from the Dortmund reasons and speeches. Different circumstances and I think in a way, he kind of feels like..

Dortmund rebounded after I went.. Liverpool rebounded after I stayed..

"My work here is done, I knew the dortmund rebound was partly because of me.. and now I've proved it to myself". The emotional toll probably got the better of him.

As someone said above, it must feel a bit like history repeating with Shanks leaving.

But look what came next... over a decade of dominance.

Would absolutely love it if it was Xabi who replaced him. What a fairy tale that would be if he wins the league with Leverkusen. One of our own.

Come on Redmen...
