Klopp ready to sell Sturridge

it may be a motivational tactic but you can't build a team around perma-injured players no matter how good they are

What's the source for this info?

I'd be more than happy to sell for that amount. Good player when fit but I can't help but feel that he's actually a right grumpy, selfish, lazy and egotistical player. I've found him hard to warm to.. .even when he and Suarez were on fire he looked angry and frustrated that Suarez was doing so well.

I doubt any team would consider a move for him. huge gamble. Large fee, high wages and a truly horrible injury record.

It would be crazy to sell Daniel Sturridge for £25M and equally as crazy to buy him for £25M. It's a strange one.

Nobody NOBODY is mad enough to pay 25m for that workshy cunt.

If we could get anywhere near that id be all over it......that said we would just throw the fucking 25m on Vardy or some other shite, so may as well keep paying Dan 150k a week for fuck all.

25M would be great business. Such a shame as I was extremely excited when we got him but he's never going to be the player he was with Suarez and Co again. We might as well move him on and try and find a replacement.

I know some you were salivating at the prospect of signing Walcott (few months back) and he is just as bad as Studge when it comes to injuries. In the current market Studge is worth £30m plus. If the club takes anything less then the club is being run by Frank Spencer. I would wait till summer to sell anyone unless market value offer comes in for a player.

There is no way he will go before the summer so I guess he will get another 4 months to show hes capable of actually playing some football. Long term he may just not be physically able for the demands of playing in Klopps team so it may be that the coaching staff have recognised this and are cutting their loses on him. Its insane how badly his stock has fallen in the last 12 months.

His stock has remained the same. Very good - very injury prone - striker. 'twas always thus.

If he stays fit, of course he will be. He's 26.

TBH I'd be amazed if anybody came in with a firm bid at all, let alone anywhere near £25 mill. I do think we might get enquiries about a loan deal but that'd be stuff all use to us. It's a pretty obvious boot up the backside IMO. Just hope it works.

Egotistical, yes, but that's no bad thing in a striker. Selfish: ditto. But by most accounts he's far from grumpy or lazy. I'd say there's more of a problem from the fact he's actually quite a happy chap at present. Can you imagine any really top striker appearing so calm and chilled-out after missing half of all the games he could have played in, and, after all that specialist treatment, seeming no nearer to resolving the issues? They'd be in emotional turmoil, they'd probably have to be dragged to matches because they'd be so depressed and frustrated. Sturridge looks like he's already retired after a satisfying career, the way he lolls around with his mates. He's looking at his career swirl down the u-bend and he doesn't seem at all upset. Maybe he hides it incredibly well, but the only one who doesn't seem worried about Sturridge is Sturridge.

It seems daft to be bullish about selling one of our best players of recent years.

His goals per game is second to none.

On the other hand we have now had him exactly 3 years and he's now been unavailable for more than half the games in that period.
Feel free to crucify him for that , but that's hardly his fault either , but I don't think there is a lot else we can actually have a pop at him for, even that he does not seem particularly likeable.

I don't get the hate , it's frustrating but that's it.

Personally if we can get a decent offer for him I think we should sell - strikers , need to be more reliable than this.

If we do sell him the medical will be interesting
It'll be published in the distinguished Science journal when the MRI scan shows his legs aren't muscle and bone but are actually made out of tissue paper, spaghetti and tin foil.

Agree with all the above, but I don't reckon there's an ice lolly's chance in heck of that last bit happening. Our best hope of a positive outcome IMO is Klopp getting through the mental block which he clearly thinks the Studge has built up around all this.

Funny you should say that , we seem to be one of the few recently that have turned a player down - It seems to me £8m would have been a gamble worth taking in Loic Remy
