without attempting to get drawn into an arguement, how anyone can say we were tactically sound in europe is beyond me.

that's not me saying I think kenny is tactically inept, that's not saying kenny is nieve with regards to europe, that's not me saying I want anyone other that kenny to be in charage not season, thats just me saying we were tactically poor in europe pretty much all season long. if you want to argue with me, fine, but you know the score, you have eyes.

The squad was more or less stretched to breaking point Europe too, if we had put out full strength teams we'd have done alot better, we were also in the predicament were at one stage our only fit striker in Europe was a £1.5m signing who currently gets 2 minutes a game at best.

don't get me wrong, there are a sea of reasons for our european performances;

* sqaud not motivated by a (let's face it) second rate competition
* kenny has has not managed in europe, ever.
* depleted squad.
* lack of confidence (after the disaster that was hodgeson).
* kenny more concerned with getting us up the league (with the real threat of relegation roy had left us in) than progressing in europe

loads of reasons for our poor show but there 'was' a poor show and that's all I said.

Fifty one percent?
Fifty one fucking percent?

That means that nearly half you fuckers want someone else other that Kenny to be the manager of our club.

I simply dispair at times ??? ??? ??? ???
Shocking when you think our form since Kenny has taken over is near as good as anyones. And we've been twatted with injuries and that historically shite squad he inherited.
At this stage I honestly believe, that even if Kenny were to win the title next season, there would be a few that would still want some other manager who was en vogue at the time saying some shit like the King isn't really a man for the future 🙁

Surely Jose or Boas haven't managed Liverpool in Europe either...

I'm not that bothered about any potential issues over tackling Europe, first and foremost he's shown an understanding of what it takes to do well in the league, though I appreciate we're nowhere near being there 'yet', there's certainly alot to be encouraged about domestically. We don't even know if we'll be in Europe next season, so any problems that there may be with us on the continent, we can worry about at the time.

Right now we need to be getting ourselves fighting back amongst the top four and hopefully challenging again, the rest comes further down the pecking order right now.

yes, but they have managed in european within the past 10 years.
for the sake of conversation, has kenny guided b'burn or celtic to the knock out stages in europe, just curious.

oh, I agree. again, my comments about europe were an observation rather than a critisism. the league is our priority and finishing outside of european places may be a blessing in disguise (although the liverpool accoutants wont agree).

I wouldn't worry or read too much into what happened in Europe this season, if anything it just highlighted how poor a squad Rafa and Hodgson left us with. We were struggling with injuries and a lack of depth, so tactical ingenuity doesn't even some into it, especially when your only options are the likes of Poulsen, N'Gog, Soto and Konchesky.

If you look at Kenny's lineup's now he's relying on youth and has more or less come to the conclusion that the aforementioned players (not to mention the likes of Maxi, Jova and Cole) have absolutely no future here at all.

I have no problem with him taking time to get to know the squad and who's worth keeping and who's not, because he's done the opposite of what our past three managers have done, he's got the first XI more or less spot on most games and isn't concerning himself with keeping players happy, scoring points, being stubborn or worrying too much about the opposition.

The 11 that played and went out against Braga was no world XI but it still should've gone through.

We went out for a myriad of reasons, the way the lads were set up to play is obviously one of them.

Kenny hadn't managed in the league in the past 10 years either. Give him a chance and I'm sure he'll prove you wrong.
it's not a matter of 'proving me wrong', I wanted kenny in the summer (when loads of people said we need an experienced manager) kenny has more than justified my faith in him (and then some). my comments on european aren't meant to be taken as mark against kenny, I just observed that some of our tactics in europe were poor, or are we not allowed to critique/make observation with regards to our peformances any more?

Indeed, sir.

you don't have to be a mind reader to suss;

22 people who voted josé - want a manager who is proven to win trophies everywhere he goes (though he'll be hard pressed to repeat this in spain)

16 people who voted boas - want a young hungry manager who has a phenomenal win record (albeit in a weak league) and is almost certainly destined to be the next big thing in management

fair enough but do you want that over someone who is pretty much the living personification of liverpool and it's ideals, who is a legend for the things he has done on and off the pitch, who is responsible for building argubly one of the greating footballing sides ever? each to their own, I guess...
