Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea along with La Liga side Barcelona will be on red alert after Brazilian youngster Keirrison declared that he is ready to leave Palmeiras this summer.

19-year-old Keirrison is one of a bunch of highly rated Brazilian youngsters, with the striker finding the net a staggering 19 times in 21 games for the Alvi-Verde since his move from Coritiba earlier this season.

However, despite the young strikers fantastic goal ratio Keirrison is ready to quit Palmeiras after being booed by his own fans after a recent dip in form. Prompting the Brazilian to declare that he does not “feel respected†in his homeland and is ready to leave for Europe.

“In Brazil I do not feel respected, I am ready to leave,†said Keirrison.

Reds manager Rafa Benitez is understood to have had the striker watched several times, while officials from Stamford Bridge have also been keeping track of the situation at Palmeiras with the young striker.

The Blaugrana are also keen to add Keirrison to their ranks at the Nou Camp, but any move for the young striker, will involve complex negotiations, with Palmeiras owning 20% of the striker’s registration and agency Traffic Sports owning the other 80%.

Q) I read a question on your column three or four months ago about the Brazilian striker Keirrison. I have been following his progress since he went to Palmeiras and I have to say he is looking like an amazing prospect - 19 goals in 23 games is some return, and commentators seem to be gushing about him.
You had said that Palmeiras (from Coritiba) was the right move for him as he was too raw. I was just wondering if you think he is any closer or more adapted to a move to Europe now, which is surely going to take place with rumours of Barcelona watching him in recent games, with figures of up to £20m being quoted.

A) Some commentators might be gushing, but the Palmeiras fans are not totally convinced. He's scored plenty of goals, but hasn't done much in the big games. I don't think it's a case of him 'bottling' it - I think it comes down to the fact that he is still raw. He's a terrific right footed finisher - but other aspects of his game need a lot of improvement. He needs to work on his left foot and become more confident taking chances on it first time, and he must improve his link play. There are too many times when he is going missing. I hope he doesn't go in this year's transfer window. This time next year I expect him to be better equipped for a move.

would he get a permit? that's the biggest hurdle.

I think he will end up at some european club like Atletico where he can be brought on slowly or maybe one of the German clubs will take a punt on him.

The next Flora?

He'd wanna be more than that? A reserve that probably has no future in the first team.

Didn't we try to sign him in january, but couldn't complete the deal due to his ownership being complicated (split 2/3 ways)? There was a thread on here early feb if I remember correctly.

I think i read a few articles over the past year that claimed we were after him but I dont know how we would have done it because ive no idea if he qualifies for a work permit unless Dunga starts calling him up. maybe we'd park him somewhere.

i was going on about k9 in another thread (some posters dismissed him just becuase of the name, you know who you are!!!) - if this news is true then this guy looks like he has a lot of potential and talent to be a great.

Weren't we in for him last summer?

I doubt we have much of a chance now Barca have entered the race.
