Hearing rumours from Celtic fans that Kenny is preparing a bid to buy Kayal from Celtic in January, supposedly he's been to watch him in person a few times over the last few weeks. Was impressed with him last season but seen him a few times this year and hasn't impressed at all.

Kayal & Hooper both want-away and look pale imitations of themsleves from last season. Both quality players though and Kayal could be an excellent signing and if we can get him for about £8m he'd be worth the risk.

I've watched Kayal plenty of times for Macabbi Haifa (in Israel and in Europe) and for the Israeli national team. He's not good enough.

Fair enough, I've only seen him a handful of times and against weak opposition i.e. SPL teams - he looks good with the potential to play at a higher level but if you've seen him at a higher level i.e. International football, I'll take yer word for it LTW.

Hooper though IMO could very well be good enough for a top 4 team in the EPL, although as he's a forward that's a debate for a different thread.

Expect an exorbitant bid in January then.

Ha. Sadly true.

Kenny and Clarke were spotted at Celtic Park attending the game vs Atletico. Hopefully we wont bid for him, not good enough.

I think he may do well for a Bolton - concur?

Yeah, not a bad shout. He's just not good enough for a top side.

Or a side aspiring to be near the top anyway.

Israel star Beram Kayal is being linked with a big-money move to Premier League giants Liverpool.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish was at Parkhead last week to run his eye over the Celtic midfielder, who captained the Hoops in their 1-0 Europa League defeat by Atletico Madrid.

Dalglish has shortlisted Kayal to replace Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, who is injured for the rest of the season.

Kayal's £8 million price tagwould make him the most expensive ever Israeli signing.

Kayal's uncle and advisor Hamoudi Kayal, himself a professional footballer, told The JC, "These rumours about Kenny Dalglish wanting Beram are very flattering and they give him extra motivation to train harder and play even better.

"I think everybody knows that Beram is worthy of playing in the English Premier League and he has certainly proven himself in the SPL."

He added, "It is no secret that Beram sees Celtic as a stepping stone to one of the big clubs in England. That said, Beram has just signed a new contract and he is completely focused on helping Celtic to win the SPL title and advance in the Europa League."

At least not this window then?

BERAM KAYAL is facing at least a month on the sidelines with a damaged ankle.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon – who yesterday welcomed new signing Mikael Lustig to the club – received disappointing scan results on the crocked Israeli, who sustained the injury during the midweek victory over Rangers.

Kayal was carried off on a stretcher in the 1-0 win at Parkhead after a thumping challenge from Ibrox battler Lee McCulloch and was sent for hospital assessment on Thursday morning.

Initial diagnosis suggested a lay-off of around 10 days but the news delivered to the Israeli was worse and has dampened some of club’s joy at going top of the SPL.

Kayal has been told he’ll be out until February but must have more scans next week to ensure the length of absence is not longer.
