The first provisional squad has been named.
Sure it's South Korea and still 30 names not the finalised 23. But it can mean only one thing! The world cup is so close I can smell it.

My fiance isn't around for the cup either, which I think is probably best for all involved. I don't think she has a clue about how much time it will take up.

i'm so obsessed with liverpool during the season, like all of us i'm sure, that it's only in the last week or so i've given any thought to the world cup at all. then it just hits you all of a sudden, fucking hell, how brilliant it is. i just pray we can get to the semis - at the very least that guarantees one really big national occasion, with the hope of something unprecedented (for most of us) to follow.

[/quote]Im so excited. I've been on the old 'all the goals of world cup ......' DVDs for weeks. I've just sat and worked out me dates (working and when games are on) and the games I'm working for that I'll need to book holidays if I want to watch are England vs Algeria 3pm, Brazil vs Portugal 3pm, Holland vs Denmark 12.30pm and that's it thankfully. I'm either off or not arsed about the other games (ie Honduras vs Chile). Obviously ideally I wouldn't miss a kick, and for the last 3 world cups I've taken the whole tournament off, but I can't do that now with Molly so I'll have to miss some.
I've also just noticed that my friends wedding is potentially on theday England would play in the last 16 if they were to top their group! 🙁

still 31 out of 48 group games are watchable and nearly all the knockouts so I shouldn't moan.
 
32 games out of the 48 group games provided I book the 23rd afternoon off work, which I am doing, me & a few of the lads are going out to watch it.

Fuck me I'm excited about this WC.
 
Can you believe that here in Singapore, neither of our 2 cable operators nor our national broadcaster has secured the rights to SHOW ANY MATCH IN THE WORLD CUP YET??!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!

We are lumped with the likes of North Korea who have not secured the rights.

FUCKING FARCICAL.
