so cahill or dann and I think that's it this summer 🙂
I'm still hoping that we're able to offload some players as well.

But if we sign Cahill, I'll be very pleased with this summers spending.

is no-one dominant in the air?

Re: Jose Enrique - 'Done Deal' says Thommo

Great news. Like I've said before, a left side of Enrique and Downing will be as good as any.

A massive improvement on the past few seasons.

Ryan, I think you're a good poster and usually quite funny. But in this thread you're all over the place.

Firstly, Villareal is a top 4 Spanish team who has been in the CL regulary. Now, when Newcastle signed Enrique he was regarded as THE biggest left back talent in Spain. Its been common knowledge that a swap of clubs would give him Capdevilas place in the national team. Spanish national coaches have been prone to pick players who play in La Liga, but signing for a top club would get him in the team.

Now, its good that you mentioned Hayden Mullins, a player you hailed once as Englands next big midfield star. Enough said.

Comparing him to Lucas fucking Neill is ridiculous. He plays for Australia. Getting picked for 2 WCs isnt the biggest accomplishment when some of the other players are reserves at Dutch and Swiss clubs.
Getting in to the recent WC and EC champions squad is a bit harder no?

And who cares were Newcastle finished in the league table, or if he played one season in the Championship? The most important thing is that he was one of the best left backs in the league last season, amd has showed steady inprovement every year and has yet to reach the peak of his career. Cahill as you mentioned in your post came from Millwall, but he has done alright for himself.

Not setteling in his first season isnt exactly the best argument either is it? Pires was shocking for Arsenal in his first season, and
so was Evra for Utd. Some players take a while longer to settle in the league and another country. Doesnt make them shit.

Consider yourself served, destroyed and taken to the cleaners.

"HERE ARE A LOT OF POINTS ABOUT TIM CAHILL, THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS, ROBERT PIRES, PATRICE EVRA AND CAPDEVILLA. AS WELL AS A LOT MORE POINTS ABOUT WHAT 'COULD HAVE HAPPENED'" none of which are in any way pertinent to the discussion or in response to my points.

And I've been "taken to the cleaners".

Fuck off.

ryan, if enrique is signed are you going to give him a fair shake or will you be on him like a fly on shit everytime he fucks up?
this isn't meant as a dig btw, I'm just wondering why this player gets you so worked up.
He doesn't work me up that much, he's a slightly better than average left back that we're not spending too much on which I suppose is one consolation.

A few things on him though:
- This is his ticket to fucking ride here. He's never played for a good team, and probably wouldn't until we signed him. "Oh Barca, Arsenal and Manure are interested" - no they weren't. He's available for next to fuck all and no one bar us wants him.
- He's not in the same stratosphere as a Cole or an Evra and never will be. We're buying a MOR left-back.
- And my issue is more with the posters in this case than it is with the player (same with Aquilani).

If he's signing, good luck to him. I hope he does well.

No it won't.

Evra-Nani/Young
Ekotto-Bale
Clichy-Silva/Nasri (Arguable I suppose)

Are all better.

Ryan, you're still all over the place in this thread. The only difference from your previews posts is the capitol letters.
Now, the latest comeback ramblings of yours is equvialent in effect to Geoff Thomas 90th minute efforts at Anfield in '89, roaring the other Crystal Palace players on shouting: " we can still salvage a draw"!!!!!!

I suggest you read the posts again, and your replies. I cant be bothered going through the things you still cant understand, but the main problem is that you dont have any fucking points.

Re: Jose Enrique - 'Done Deal' says Thommo

And I know some on here dont like stats, but these are pretty impressive;

1 on 1, Enrique's beaten 9 times last season, compared to A. Cole (38), Clichy (26), Baines (24), Evra (23).

Tackle success - Evra 76% - Enrique 84% - Baines 74% - Clichy 81% - Cole 61%

Average? I think not.

Liverpool agreed a £5.5 million fee with Newcastle United last night to sign José Enrique, the left back, which will probably mark the end of the club’s summer spending.

Liverpool hope to part-fund the deal for the former Spain Under-21 player, who had entered the last year of his contract, by selling David Ngog, the forward, to Bolton Wanderers. Newcastle are in talks to sign Erik Pieters, of PSV Eindhoven, as a replacement.

no CB? we're one injury away from disaster if that's true

I don't even know what you're talking about.

Re: Jose Enrique - 'Done Deal' says Thommo

It's unlikely to be true. They want N'Gog + we need a CB. Make it happen.
