Ps we have spent £39m on Glen Johnson. Further backs up the bollocks that footballers need to protect their careers as they don't last long. How many people could live their whole lives on a fraction of that.

No disrespect to Glen in particular, just an observation on the state of wages and costs in football nowadays.

That's part of the reason we've had to renew our season tickets before this season has finished.

With Johnson I get the sense that he just didn't care a lot of the time and didn't look like he was giving it 100% and so people got on his back.

I liked him and IMO his defensive failings were quite often exaggerated in earlier discussions on here. I'm afraid he's deserved those criticisms more recently, but it's interesting that in some of our most recent games he and Lovren have been two of a small number of players who've actually done OK. I wish him all the best and hope he does well wherever he goes next.
