Joao Pedro

maybe they kinda sorta maybe might owe us the tiniest bit of favour over the caicedo ordeal.

probably not but at least we have their number saved.

The only lingering concern I have with Pedro is the transfer fee—it’s the one detail that gives me pause. That said, he more than passes the eye test with his performances on the pitch. Scoring a 95th-minute winner at Old Trafford certainly didn’t hurt his reputation in my eyes either. Last season, he maintained an impressive record as a one-in-two striker for Brighton, and what’s even more encouraging is that he’s managed to carry that form into this season under a new coach. It’s a testament to his adaptability and consistency, and it gives me further hope he would do well here.

I can't see Brighton selling below £85m and with Marmoush reportedly going for ~£50m then the club have a big call to make on who represents the best value. After the Nunez debacle, and Salahs age, it's not a call we can get wrong.

"One of the other questions I always get asked is 'Who was/is your favourite player?' That's a really difficult question to answer so I won't even try. All I will say is my dog is called Bobby.”

Michael Edwards from a few years ago. He sure likes his physical Brazilian false nines…

Sure - is this a replacement for Nunez or Jota or both? Perhaps for Diaz?

I don't think it matters, it's an independent decision. We're short on consistent, available and good enough attacking talent, if we find one that ticks the box, we should get them in. Who we get rid of depends on what offers are available, amongst other things.

Maybe I'm a bit late to the party but it feels like no one has mentioned Santiago Gimenez.
Slot's striker at Feyenoord.
41 goals in 69 games.

Yes he's currently injured but he'll be back in January.

All in on this. Make it happen.
This is what will happen:

Scenario 1:
Liverpool call Brighton: phone rings....
Brighton: Realize its LFC - no money club and put the phone down.

Scenario 2:
Liverpool call Brighton: phone rings....we ask them how much
drum-roll......
Liverpool put phone down and our negotiator has heart-attack on hearing the price.

Scenario 3:
Liverpool call Brighton: phone rings .. we ask them how much...
Brighton: they tell us the price
Liverpool: we then say player is like 20M less then the price they quote
Brighton: they tell us to fuck off and put phone down.

Scenario 4:
Liverpool call Brighton: phone rings .. we ask them how much...
Brighton: they tell us the price
Liverpool: We agree the price maybe we get a couple of million discount because we kinda helped them with the Caicedo price
Brighton: Agree to sell
Liverpool: we tell them we need to structure the deal over X years with very small instalments.
Brighton: they don't agree and want more in each instalment
Liverpool: we tell them we cannot afford to pay that much.
Brighton: still not happy
Time drags on and Transfer window closes
Liverpool media up FSG arse: - they really tried to sign someone but could not get it over the line - to which TOP TOP TOP reds like @StevieM - will use as argument that FSG tried really hard and are no mugs and won't pay over what we value a player despite the fact that our most expensive striker ever cannot score goals.

I've only seen comps, but I didn't get the sense he was ready or good enough to join a top side in the PL. His stats are decent but the goals look like something from a half arsed training session. He gives off more Vincent Janssen/Wout Weghorst vibes than Luis Suarez, put it that way.
