We need a good attacking/creative midfielder in January. That's the only panic buy we need to make.

Gerrard can win balls in midfield along with Lucas. I only want someone to play in front of them a Hazard type player maybe.

The most important signing to make is a quality defensive midfielder.

They don't necessarily have to play all the time, but when we are playing a passing side, and we need that genuine, can't be taught, midfield control nous, then they are the first name on the teamsheet.

Brandy Carroll's being sent out on loan to Stoke for a month. Get a few games under his belt. Just needs games and he'll be fine. Not fully fit yet.

Perhaps but in the last two windows 100M worth of players have come into the squad and at this early stage we're all questioning whether we've gotten value for money.

If I was being asked to invest a further 50M or whatever I'd be feeling a little anxious.

What yesterday did illustrate was the adage lies damned lies and statistics. 40 odd million quid spent on 3 statistically excellent players does not a high scoring passing machine make.

The whole team lacked leadership and we lost our cool and were on to a beating but the fact is spurs were superior as soon as they kept Modric and we sold Meireles ... As to buying a defensive midfielder, it seems you have a choice you can have a team capable of outplaying the other top teams or you buy a destroyer in midfield. We have neither situation at the moment. It was a fairly sobering performance which has left us looking deflated and considerably boosted a chief competitor in the process.

Whatever way you cut it it was a shambles and Kenny will need to lift them, too many Indians not enough chiefs.... We needed to buy in a bit of magic and we spunked 35M on Carroll .... Who was not to blame for yesterday ... The whole team was.

The optimism of our performance against Bolton has vaporized ... We've had 3 of our toughest away games on the spin and 3 points... Not enough to challenge but ... Not the end of the world... The timely boost of a great player , say Steven "FUCK STATISTICS" Gerrard might well help assuming the fella can still move.
