Meanwhile, Liverpool have made an informal enquiry about Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne, 31, but were told he is unavailable.

11) Paddy Cunningham to Lime Street Station
A long shot this one.

HA. Chuckleage.

If Forlan is available for a reasonable fee, I'd be very tempted to sign him AND Suarez. We know they can play together, and Forlan is a pure goalscorer.

He'll be 32 this year and I doubt they'll let him go under £10m so no thanks. Wonderful player though.

Where's the Paddy thread gone?
Sunny has locked it. I have added a poll on it though so get voting peeps.

If you vote in a locked thread will it kill the internet
Absolutely not, that's a Doc-Mac guarantee. A poll is the final means we have as a forum to judge the case. Use your democratic right.

Can't access the poll and the thread is locked.

Can't help noticing a rather more interventionist style of modding is prevalent these days.

Capdevila that is, I don't know your mate.

Sounds like quite a collision.

Don't know if this has been posted:

Fulham manager Mark Hughes has given up on signing Shaun Wright-phillips and Paul Konchesky - but says he will be back in for the Liverpool defender in the summer.

Hughes, who signed Steve Sidwell in the transfer window, was eager to add to his squad further with the loan acquisition of Manchester City's Wright-Phillips.

But City are keen on selling the winger rather than a loan deal, dashing Hughes' hopes of sealing a deal for the 29-year-old.

Hughes said: "We expressed an interest and tried to make it happen with Shaun.

"However, it is looking less and less likely that one will happen for a number of reasons now."

Konchesky has endured a torrid time at Anfield since leaving Craven Cottage in the summer and although Hughes says he will not be offering the left-back a return to Fulham this month, the door is open for a future move.

"There is interest in Konchesky as well but it is not likely in this window," Hughes added. But there's a chance we might revisit that one."

Are we only gonna sign fatboys now? Adam, Dunne and now Capdevila?

Hammers end Cole chase

The club's manager, Avram Grant, admitted last week that he would welcome a reunion with the Liverpool playmaker, who he worked with at former club Chelsea.

It has also been reported that Cole would be interested in a return to West Ham, where he began his career, having struggled since a Bosman move to Anfield in June.

But ahead of Sunday's FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest, Gold does not think that it will be possible to agree a deal for the 29-year-old.

Gold told Sky Sports News regarding interest in Cole: "We don't leave any stone unturned. But I would discount that now. I think that has run its course."

West Ham completed the drawn-out signing of Senegal international Demba Ba from Hoffenheim on Friday to add to the January arrivals of Gary O'Neil and loanee Wayne Bridge.

However, amid reported interest in Brazil international Ewerthon, Gold has not ruled out further signings before Monday's transfer deadline.

He said: "We still have one or two other irons in the fire."

Is Sampdoria in financial trouble, the deal is reported to be 12 mill euros + Biabiany.

That can't be right.

Inter have signed Pazzini.

That's not their first signing in this window is it ?
Didn't they sign some midfielder for 16M or something?

That's what I thought.

I just think it's funny that Rafa does the "back me or sack me" routine, they sack him and then go off and spend loads of money.
