Meh, I don't like N'Zogbia so he can get fucked.

I didn't realise how young he was.. Seems like he's been around yonks.. I'd be happy with his signing for an appropriate fee (ie anything under 12mill)

Liverpool are watching Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema's situation.

France international Benzema has been discussed at Anfield, with new football chief Damien Comolli a big fan of his countryman.

The Reds are eying a loan move for the 23-year-old French international with an option for a permanent purchase at the end of the season.

His failure to secure a first-team place under Jose Mourinho has even caused conflict between the Real coach and general director Jorge Valdano.

don't see any harm in that, especially if ajax f us about with the suarez fee. reminds me a lot of us taking anelka

Well with Comolli off to Amsterdam today, there should be movement. Let's get this done and quick. The Chavs on the horizon.

I was just thinking about whether we should be interested in Benzema while watching Real grind a 1:0 win against Mallorca at the Bernabeu. Benzema scored the winning goal (only his second of the season in Premira and I thought it was somewhat lucky) and briefly looked rejuvenated, then he badly wasted 3 more good chances and dropped his head again. I think Karim is really uncomfortable playing as a center-forward, he needs to be stationed on the left wing, run into space and have the ball at his feet - he likes to have many touches on the ball, that's why he has trouble scoring from inside the penalty area, by the time he gets his customary 3 touches, defenders are all over him. Considering that we have a chronic problem with the left wing, that might be a good fit.

However, somehow I don't get the feeling that Benzema will play for Liverpool.

Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor is ready to give up on a potential loan deal to Real Madrid by signing for his former club Monaco in a £9 million transfer. (Daily Mirror)

Benzema on the left wing would be quite odd... especially if he was asked to do any defending.

He'd be better perhaps in a little more withdrawn role alongside Torres.

On form, he's a brilliant centre-forward, and one-touch passing is one of his best features.

He's been short of confidence (partly because short of gametime) for so long now, though, that it might take a while to bring the real Benzema back. I also seriously doubt whether Real would let him go this month - they need more strikers, not less.

With Mourinho complaining about the lack of dept up front, I can't see it in any way shape or form that Benzema will move.

Still better than not having a winger?

Signing players on huge wages who would only marginally improve us is really not the way forward.

I don't think our future plan is signing players on huge wages, unless it's a major signing. If he's available on a reasonable wages demand, I'm all for it. It's painful to watch Kuyt in 4-4-2 formation.

Aye.

I'd want swp on a performance related pay scheme if we got him.

Tge potential pitfalls outweigh the gains

Of course if he's available on the cheap then why not but I doubt he will be. It is only possible if City vastly subsidy his wages but I can't see them doing that for us. He'll probably end up in Fulham or like.

We are not even playing 4-4-2 at the moment and Kuyt has been much better under Kenny. It's Maxi who I'd like to be replaced first.

It's hard to believe that would be their opening offer for a player we clearly don't want, who we got for free, and who is on mad wages. Unless they mean that *we* should pay the £6m...

Vicente linked with Blackburn today. Still only 29. Would he be worth picking up for the left flank as a replacement for Jova if the price was right?

I think so.
