I'll choose the premiership proven N'Zogbia thanks.
[/quote]

Aaaaah yes, 'premiership proven'... 18 goals in 190 premiership games.

'Proven' that he's good enough for anyone outside of the top 10. So yeah us I suppose.

Lies, damn lies and statistics. He's played a fair percentage of those games at left-back Ryan. He's also only 24 and has been playing at a young age for a poor Newcastle side and then perennial strugglers, Wigan. You can hardly expect the lad to have netted a bagful so far.

He's also proven that he's potentially better than the Newcastle/Wigan type teams, having consistently stood out in those two sides, suggesting that he'll fit in at a better club.

You can hardly say that he hasn't proven that he can cut it in this league given his overall level of play.

He did play left back for some time...

he also played for a team that got relegated and a pretty shitty Wigan team..

i dont think he is Giggs or anything but if you expect a winger with a better goalscoring record im afraid to tell you that we cant afford them...

Heh... we don't someone who'll "cut it" though, we want someone with quality that will make a big impact, he just seems like another Pennant style signing. I know he's better than Pennant, but that's the general impression I get from watching him, he's good but not good enough to make a real difference.

Did you get those stats from wiki?

Because his stats are:

175 appearances; 22 goals ; 27 assists (6 seasons)

I had also recently posted stats for Ramsey, Bale, Walcott, Lennon, and Adam Johnson. Re-posting them here as they make for an interesting comparison:

Ramsey – 49 appearances, 5 goals, 6 assists (3 seasons)
Walcott – 149 appearances, 24 goals, 21 assists (5 seasons)
Bale – 95 appearances, 16 goals, 16 assists (4 seasons)
Lennon – 209 appearances, 19 goals, 49 assists (6 seasons)
Johnson – 43 appearances, 6 goals, 8 assists (2 seasons)

N'zogbia is certainly comparable to any of them. Given that he's played a lot of these games at left-back and for two relegation battling sides, his stats aren't THAT bad.

I'm not a big fan but he's not as bad as you're making him out to be.

Its laughable how most people are using stats to back up or dismiss arguments for and against players.

Stop getting carried away.

Nzogbia for his "poor" goalscoring record is a cut or two above what we have as wingers.

I grab him in an instant. There's only so many Robben type players available and they cost BIG!

correct.

I see Kenny Miller got the Darius Vassell treatment it seems in Turkey. hahahah. Outrageously OTT for an average player.

Huckerby's unveiling when he went to MLS has to be the best though.

i fucking love huckerby since that video

He was playing the very first time I saw Liverpool.

He was really good as a youngster and I thought he was going to become great back then.

they heart huckerby.

Ha!

They certainly do in Norwich anyway.

decent transfer window for me would be (lets be realistic here given where we are)

Nzogbia
Adam
Warnock
Suarez

It will add much needed strength & depth to the squad in all areas..

I'd love that window jono, but I don't think I can see it coming off. I can see warnock and maybe a defensive mid (dunno who)

I think it's exactly what we'll get with maybe Chamberlain/Wickham thrown in for good measure.

Hoping we get Adam, Suarez and one of Young or Nzogbia.

That would do it for me.

Wigan chairman saying they'll let N'zogbia go if a top 6 club came in for him.

Seems to suggest we've made enquiries?

The fact he's said top 6 surely rules us out

Fabio, apparently Kenny went to go watch him play.

Regardless of our current position, I'm pretty sure that he'll be considered but not at the quoted £15M.

Let's wait and see what happens.
