Jan Transfer Window (rumours, wishes, exists and formation change)

He's too good to be sitting on the bench tbf. He was likely going to move regardless of how much/little money we had to spend in the summer.

There is perhaps an argument for selling Alisson, but we took nearly 30 years to find a world class keeper and you'd have to be 100% confident Kevin was able going to reach a similar level (and I think they rate Pitaluga very highly).
Yep. Too good to play a handful of first teams games, at best, a season. However sale with a definitive buy-back clause and promote Pitaluga I could live with.

£250m to spend, what load of crock when you having to sell the Irish Kevin and Nat to raise funds for new transfers. Pearce might be talking out of his arse, but I believe this has hints of truth. I mean we haven't recouped Gakpo's fee yet

I mean we could all see that coming.
Unless we sell Allison, it's what's best for Irish Kev. We have quite a few options behind him, Davies/Pitaluga/about 50 Polish keepers

Pitaluga currently plays on loan in the fifth division of the national league. The first division of the national league is below the championship. Are we relying on a goalkeeper currently on loan in English football's seventh division to be our backup?

Remind me...how much experience did Kelleher have?

Weston McKennie on his way to Leeds. Probably not good enough for us even as a short term loan mind you.

Wasnt Kelleher through the academy? Also, Kelleher spent a couple of years as our number three when Adrian was number two. I don't know how talented Pitaluga is but going from seventh division to playing for us or being our number two is a huge jump.

Our midfielders are rolling around with walkers, while the club sleeps.
Negligence again. Makes the Gakpo thing even more weird.

Can anyone care to explain how Forest new boy Danilo is able to play for them right now?

21. Signed from Palmerias. No caps for Brazil. Never played in Europe before. No dual citizenship.

Just want to know more about this work permit bullshit that apparently exists for some clubs for not others.

So now it doesn't matter what age you are, if you've played in Europe beforehand or are a full international.

So why can't we sign players like him straight from South America then?

Seems all a bit shady to me, we should be out there finding some players that fit this criteria and sign them up pronto.

Wtf is our recruitment team sitting around doing all day? Sat round a table sticking rolled up Jude Bellingham posters up their arses?

We don't like complicated signings. We were after Moises before Brighton but pulled back because too many agents were involved. Danilo, I was making noises about in the summer and at £18m he was a steal. If we sell Nat we might be able to get a player on loan. The club coffers are dry, Klopp has said so many times. We even struggled to get the Gakpo deal over the line.
Last year we paid back £70-80m of the £200m credit facility we drew on to deal with the pandemic. We are paying FSG £8-10m per year for the £110m loan which for the pandemic hit season was deferred. We've paid off the cost of the training facility.

Won't happen, but if Everton go down, then I'd like us to make a bid for Amadou Onana.

Tall, quick, and defensive, and FSG doesn't even have to pay for his flight over.

It's much easier to get work permit for South Americans now because of the new rules - that's why so many English clubs are entering the market. Shared previously in this thread:

Not only has he featured in Copa Libertadores, he won it twice in 2020 and 2021 with Palmeiras.

Similarly, Southampton's Argentinian signing Carlos Alcaraz (20 yrs old) featured in Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores, thus qualifying for work permit.
