It's the Final Countdown...

3 wins + 1 draw should be realistic but, please, no more injuries!

We drop points, United willl overtake us. I think they have a few bad results in them yet, but we can't count on it. City - United Drawing with put us in pole position for third.

I would think it's very unlikely Utd will take full points from away games to City, Spurs & Arsenal.

72+ points will probably secure top 4.

76+ might get us 3rd - although we probably need the Manc Derby to be a draw.

Fuck them. Win all 5 and let the rest of them sweat it out at the bottom. On paper there is no reason why we can't do it. It is on average 7 days of rest after each match, ample time for preparations and no lack of motivation.

Ha, I didn't realize they had away games away to those three.

Looking at the remaining fixture list i still think we could lose or draw remaining fixtures except the last one against boro which i expect us to win. Really surprised about the recent victories but we are still in my view reliant on other results going our way.

Your view in this instance is wrong by virtue of simple mathematics.

Really ? - we cannot afford to lose a single game in reality if we want that 4th place - that is the reality. Man United have a strong enough squad to beat all their opponents, and Arsenal ... somehow they always make 4th or 3rd don't they ?

Arsenal do indeed always make Top 4. They have for the last 20 years or some thing incredible like that. But nothing is guaranteed, and they do seem brittle.

As for United and City, of course both clubs are still a threat; they have good players and two of the best managers in the world. But United have drawn so many games already and while they have games in hand, I'd still prefer to have the points. As for City, they should finish Top 4 with that squad, but then all we need is for us to get ONE of those top 4 places.

Chelsea and Spurs will obviously finish above us, but that still leaves two spots and we have a great chance. I don't think we *have* to win all of our remaining games, because there's no chance Arsenal, City and United will. Obviously.

We dont have to win all our remaining games, but we need to make sure we don't fucking draw them all either. Which is something I half expect us to do

Nah , the teams around us all have to play each other.

We can afford to drop points and finish 4th . I mean , we dont want to like and obviously 3rd would allow for a longer pre-season by a few weeks but theres not a hope in hell that either of arsenal or utd dont drop points between now ans may 21st

So while we can focus solely on C Palace this month (practically Watford as well) City has the FA cup against Arsenal and the derby the same week... United need full focus on Anderlecht, then away to Burnley before the derby within a week and Arsenal have the semi, a midweek battle with an inform Leicester and then Spurs. Not sure what to hope for.....

Just worry about ourselves and continue to focus on one game at the time.
We're in a great position.

This run in might be ok for us as all of Palace, Southampton, West Ham and Watford are safe and have nothing to play for, whilst Borough will likely be relegated by the time we play them..

But we always find a way to make it hard for ourselves.
