"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

"Talks with Liverpool are ongoing but I am not going to tell what we are doing. We want to reach a favourable situation but in order to make it happen we have to be extremely reserved. Everybody needs to have discretion, from the club to the player.”
That was after Barcelona got drubbed by Real Madrid.

Actually reading Daily Stars report its from Sport claiming

- We'll sell for €160m
- If we sign R.Sanchez
- Secret meetings took place on Friday and Saturday.

The Mirror say we've agreed to sell for 148m
That's a neat sum for a benchwarmer I'd say..

Honestly, Coutinho would kinda struggle to get into the side right now (which obv will change in a few weeks and with loads of games coming up etc.) but maybe we should just take their silly money (because that is truly one of the most over-the-top bids I've seen in recent times) and bolster the squad with Virgil, Keita and Dolberg instead?

Loosing a quality player like Coutinho is never fun but if we could actually spend the money wisely we'd come out stronger. I am not sure I was in this camp only a few weeks back but seeing how wonderfully we can play without him makes me less worried and more inclined to believe that would actually help us long run (3 for 1 that is).

*I know the Dolberg-thing won't happen but then add someone else awesome like Draxler...

I don't think we should buy Renato Sanchez - for me there are some hefty Anderson-vibes surrounding that player.

Whenever I've seen him he's not once stood out as someone that was worth the hype.

I really hope we make an example out of Coutinho. We just don't sell him to warn other players that we won't put up with any antics in order to get a move. Especially this late in the transfer window. A contract is a fucking contract that should be the message.

Meanwhile in Hackney Downs, Delli Ali is strutting his stuff

It looks like the Train came before they did..

Hmm, 148 mill. Thats tempting if a lot of its upfront, and we can get Thomas Lemar before Thursday.

I see we've circled back round to the "we don't need him anyways" and "Ibe is just as good if not better" arguments.
Not sure if that's a dig at my post but I stand by that we should cash in for him now if we are indeed capable of spending the silly amount on money on 2-3 players for the starting XI. Defender, Midfielder and Forward-player. In that order.

The fact we have looked so lively, aggressive and quite awesome without him obv influences my view, but I am also convinced the latest quoted offer are way over the top even in this market. Finally he's not made any new friends lately in and around Anfield and a part of me surely is nervous about whether we'd actually see the Coutino of last Season if we are going to force his hand/feet.

So, in short, he's not a player we don't need at all, because on form he's terrific, but everything taken into consideration we might want to cash in now and move forward..

I think we all know we need him and hes our best player. A good start to the season hasnt changed that.

My position hasnt changed, IF we sign 3 or 4 world class or potentially world class players before the window shuts then fine.
But otherwise we must keep him.

I still genuinely dont think we will sell him. I just cant see us being that dumb

Won't be, though, will it? They clearly have detailed plans for the Neymar money and those plans don't include a proper up-front offer for Coutinho, or - given the way they bigged the whole thing up earlier, arranging a press call and all that - it would have happened already.

The only if we use the money on a few weirdly players shouldn't be an argument either. We have again spent next to nothing, after spending nothing in January and very little last summer .. comparatively speaking.
FSG might well sell and buy two or three before the window closes but they are still not spending enough.

If we sold Coutinho for 130m and signed (for the sake of argument) Keita, VVD, Lemar and A.N.other for 200m I wouldnt be that disappointed.

Summer would be good if thats how it ended.

Id also take keeping Coutinho and VVD and Lemar coming in.
It looks like Keita is an absolute no chance.
