"It's complicated"? -- No it isn't, fuck off Barca - £113 Million bid rejected

Can someone tell me a player were likely to get, who could replace Coutinho, without disrupting the flow of the team?
I'm not sure that would even be a concern for the owners. Sacrifice a season challenging for the PL to bank £120m profit.

Then they run the risk of falling further behind, which I already worry we are.

I'm hoping they defer the decision to klopp, but I don't think they would

Veratti .... thereby dropping Firmino back into the Coutinho MF slot. Lallana remains as backup.

Excellent player. Different to Coutinho though. Doesn't run at players as much, isn't as tricky, shooting isn't as good)(I think). Passing range is right though

Plus I don't think we could get veratti

I also do not like this dropping firmino back idea

The key word in this proposition is "likely". There is NO ONE in world football we are LIKELY to get with one week before the season starts and less than 4 week left in the window who could fill that gap. Not when we have the most inept group of negotiators and talent scouts in all of sports outside perhaps the New Jersey Nets. We will say no. We must say no. This is a non-starter.

I'd take 150m, if we have Isco (great shout) lined up at 60m and we INVEST that 90m in other players Klopp wants.
We cannot take 150m and not invest it.

I would straight-swap Coutinho for Mbappe, definitely, I think it would be a good long-term move for us. However Marca is claiming Madrid has already "agreed" to pay £162M+ for him. They might be full of shit though.

Certainly not a bad shout, but if city haven't managed to prise him away by now, how much would he cost us?
Didn't know they had previously pursued him. Aye, with their money they probably would have landed him by now.

As for your question I genuinely don't know. Is he still on the periphery at Madrid? If not and we get 135 million, surely Madrid would ask for the same or similar.

Simply put, who do we replace him with? He has a very specific set of skills that's hard to find. He's intrinsic to how we play (much as I loathe his inconsistencies), and selling him with over a week until the season starts is suicide

I'd prefer to sell Coutinho next year but if it happened, his like for like replacement is Lallana.
One of them is always under utilised when they play together.

So i wouldn't be rushing out looking for a like for like replacement

Really? I think they play well together, since Klopp is here anyway.

I think the replacement for Coutinho (the midfield playmaker version) is Keita.

Understatement of the year....

Lallana is similar, and more consistent, but not nearly as devastating as Coutinho can be.

If we're losing that quality, I'd want equal or better

Madrid or Marca? I guess both are full of shit by the way...

Coutinho scares the shit out of teams. They know he will bend it to a corner at any time. It is a priceless skill and it is simply not for sale!
