Well, you've certainly gone the "best individual" route, otherwise Sami and Torres (for all their excellence) wouldn't be there.
Here's my idea of what the line-up should look like:
Clemence
Babbel Lawrenson Hansen Nicol
Callaghan Gerrard Souness(capt.) Barnes
Dalglish Rush
Pepe may well become our greatest ever keeper but I just don't think he's done enough to shade Clem yet. Your choice of fullbacks may be controversial but I for one agree with you. Babbel was only at his best for us for one season, but I don't think that matters a hoot in an exercise like this because, during that one season, his all-round play was the best I've ever seen from a Liverpool RB and he was a vital part of the overall team set-up. Stevie Nicol HAS to be in there somewhere as our best ever all-rounder, so he gets LB (where he played a fair few times) even though he played more on the right. Some will say Gerrard's the best all-rounder we've had but Nicol changed position more often, and rarely if ever failed to make a success of doing so. Hansen and Lawrenson have to be the CBs though, just as Dalglish and Rush have to be the front two - you do not split up partnerships like those.

still had the team in mind with my selection.
pepe - for his distribution
sami - for his ability in the air
alonso - for his ability to hurt teams from a deep position
so if the team needed to defend deep for long periods and soak up pressure, sami can deal with the long ball (from the opposition trying to get behind us), alonso and pepe can start the counter attack.
