Ireland V France Part 1

I say this every time, but the fact that Domanech is still managing France is one of footballs biggest mysteries right now. They don't seem very organized at all and everyone is playing within himself - they're lucky they have some very brilliant individuals in that squad otherwise they'd probably have been out a long time ago.

Great effort by John O'Shea!!

Would have been nice if that had of been Duff or Keane instead of O'Shea.

We cheer when we get corners too.

That was in Gabrielle Marcotti's book... the English being the only major nation in the world who celebrate a corner almost as if it was a goal.

There's no way Ireland are going to win this tie. Sorry.

Noted for future mocking.

I reckon that Keith Andrews looks like me.

Unrelated to the football and also quite possibly wide of the mark, I was watching this interview with a professor called Roy Foster who is a contemporary Irish historian and for some reason I thought that Gene Huges off SCM would like this as he's into history.

Do you have an interest in Irish history?

Here's the programme, you might need one of those proxy ninja things to watch it

I want them to win but they have some quite poor players.

How come whenever Ray Houghton starts to speak, it seems as if you've been listening to him say the same thing for 547389146 minutes?

That was some shitty defending by Kilbane and worse shooting by the French guy whose name I do not know.

In a weird way 0-1 might not be a bad result for Ireland. France won't go all-out attack, and they might be slightly complacent. If you can avoid conceding during the first hour in Paris, you could still sneak this - in spite of the gulf in class between the two teams.

Yep

Can't believe how much interest an Ireland game's getting on a Liverpool forum.

Oh no, wait, yes I can.

I enjoyed my curry more than that game. Bit bland really.

I'm currently on a Lamb Balti Lahori
