Because a good manager will get the most of what he's got and adapt his thinking accordingly. It's no good boasting a brilliant attack record if you're repeatedly undone at the end through a sheer unwillingness to try to compensate. As it is, defensively we haven't improved one bit. Stubborness is what got Rafa and Houllier fired, in the end. If he'd coached some organisation into us, it would be a start, to not even do that is just ridiculous.

Klopp's comments and frustration clearly show that some of the players simply seem to blank out at times and forget their coaching (which of course is not Klopp's alone). Surely nothing is more frustrating for a manager/coach than players going AWOL on the pitch. That could simply be down to the quality or intelligence of our defensive / midfield players or something more insidious. It could also of course be the quality of the coaching but this coaching team have a proven track record so probably wouldn't be the first place I'd look.

To be fair to Klopp, we actually did change our game plan towards the end of last season and managed to grind out a series of wins in tight away games when it mattered most.

If you take that excuse and add in Hansern's favourite 'individual mistakes' one you could probably argue Klopp's system is brilliant defensively because we've never conceded a goal under him.

God knows what you're on about now, but there is no question about us topping the individual mistake/defensive errors table.
We havent had a good defence for years, so its not really hard to understand. Players not being good enough - making mistakes under pressure - conceding soft goals.

Even you should understand that.

And in regards to Klopps playing style/tactics:

The Reds have made 37 defensive errors in the league since Klopp took charge, yet remarkably the German’s Dortmund side made only 34 in total across his final three seasons at the club.

Yes, cause thats exactly what I said....
I merely pointed out that the factor you referred to. As this issues of tactics have more sides than just one.

He's the manager, its quite obvious that most of the responsibility falls on him.
He picks the team, signs players and persist with Moreno, Klavan, Lovren, Lucas etc.

Now stop trying to be clever, it doesnt suit you.
