I'm going to make a delicious prediction

Come on mate, Wanyama is the only contentious selection there. As for Delle Ali, well i'd have Mane and Coutinho ahead of him, so no.
That's a contentious call right there. Seen how many goals and assists Ali has this season ?
Besides which Ali would probably play at the point of a diamond behind them if you wanted to keep the front three intact.

It would be a very short list if you named the Liverpool players that would get in the Spurs team.

Coutinho & Mane
Maybe Matip over Vertongen but yeah, otherwise it's tough to squeeze others in .... and yet we battered them twice so what do we know.

I think that is about right, but how would the attacking line-up look then?

................................Wanyama..................................
Mané..............Eriksen........Coutinho...........Dele Alli
.....................................Kane....................................

Slightly to the attacking-side perhaps, but that would be some line-up to defend against.

Big mismatch between the current Arse style, and Simeone's view of how the game is played, isn't there? Not impossible, but not exactly a match made in heaven (and probably another good reason why their fan base is so pissed off about us having Herr Klopp).

I think the previous link with Tuchel makes more sense in terms of fitting the current playing personnel to the potential replacement. However, they've done this previously, when switching from George Graham (and whoever else after him) to Wenger, so football styles and personnel fit don't necessarily come into the equation. The same can be said of us moving from Evans to Houllier and of Ferguson to Moyes / Van Gaal / Mourinho.

A mate of mine who's a Spurs fan is adamant that we're the best side they've played this season, esp.the way we played against them at Anfield. If we have a good summer in the market I think we have a fair chance of finishing ahead of them this time next year.

Against attacking sides we're the best in the league, of that I have no doubt.

That 'Top 6 league' table sky showed that conclusively. Sadly there's plenty of teams who won't attack us that we struggle against. Until we can consistently beat both across a season we won't be the best side in the league, & when we do no one will be able to argue it because the table will prove it too.

We should consider a couple of those. Walker has seemingly lost his place to Trippier and Dier is also struggling to hold down a place but why would Rose want out?

Walker lost his place - for a few games - because he started being a bit too overt about how much money he could earn elsewhere. Dier has played most games, even if he hasn't always been able to play DM.

The main reason why any of those three might want to move is that they know they can double their salary straight away - at the very least - and join a team with no financial constraints who are likely to win trophies, perhaps even more likely than Spurs

Yes they would.
I get that our Phil is the more sexier player of the two, heck, he even got a cool Brazilian surname name and all. He's also got more swagger when he skips by a few defenders before scoring some at times quite glorious goals, more so than Eriksen anyways. Coutinho on form really is a marvellous player to watch.

However as you might know Eriksen was a few weeks back voted Fans Player of the Year for Spurs, piping everyone's favourites in Alli and Kane by some margin, he even entered Carragher's Team of the Year (which didn't include any Liverpool players btw) as well as being singled out as their main creative outlet by Pochettino.

Eriksen runs more than most other players in the Prem (he was 3rd of all last time I checked), he has created almost twice as many chances as Coutinho (in 5 games more) for his teammates, he's topping the assists charts and has also scored more than a handful of goals (8, whereas Phil is on 12 and is generally a more dangerous player in front of goal). Eriksen's team btw is sitting comfortably above us in the league why it's also some claim that they'd bin their most vital player this Season.

I don't think many neutrals would agree that Spurs would just drop Eriksen for Coutinho, I guess however you can find loads of Liverpool fans agreeing with you.

Out of curiosity why do you think Coutinho would walk in ahead of him?

Didn't know that about Walker but I was aware Dier was pretty pissed abut not playing in his preferred DM role.

Out of curiosity, maybe Chelsea aside, what teams would you chose if you were to pick a more likely candidate to win the Premiership next year if not Spurs? I mean they've gone from 3rd to 2nd within two seasons and are being linked with some quite heavy names - and if can they keep their core intact I guess they'd be as good as bet as anyone really. Maybe I'm downplaying the fact they are moving to a bigger ground, but I am sure they'd cope with it just fine really.

Because he's a more talented player, stop being ridiculous KHL.

Ha ha fair enough, he may be, I was just wondering if you could be a bit more specific but no worries, it'll most likely never be of any relevance anyways this debate.

*Unless of course Klopp felt a sudden urge to make me cry happy manly tears of joy and brought in Eriksen come Summer..

Chelsea will buy and be strong again. United will be much stronger. Spurs will be just about what they are now - not being able to match wages & transfer fees they will be scrambling around for 2nd tier players .. such as Dolberg. City will be 5 or 6 top class players and be much much stronger.

We will be much stronger but I'm not sure how much the CL will affect us when it comes to the PL (fast start, slow finish is my guess, so much like this season, fighting for 4th). Arsenal will be undergoing major revision with a new manager and playing style.

City
Chelsea
United
Liverpool
Spurs
Arsenal

If they're the only players who want out this summer, Spurs will be chuffed. Probably the most easily replaceable of the lot.

I disagree... but each to their own opinions I suppose, I just find it hard to understand that you clearly don't rate Lallana, or a fit Henderson or indeed Firmino. I do grant you that defensively the are superior to us but going forward the only player they have who interests me is Dele Ali.

Mate, I find that bizarre in the extreme.
It's not that people don't rate our players, it's more that theirs have clearly had better seasons:
Kane 32+7.
Alli 21+6.
Son 21+5.
Eriksen 12+15.
If you don't rate that fair enough. If our front 4 had stats like that, we'd be proclaiming them the best of all time.

Mignolet vs Lloris – Lloris
Clyne vs Walker – draw. Last season I would have taken Clyne, but this season Walker has been better.
Matip vs Vertonghen – draw. Two brainy, cold-blooded defenders I like very much.
Lovren vs Alderweireld – Alderweireld
Milner vs Rose – Rose
Henderson vs Dier – draw, Hendo is currently the better player, but the chronic heel issue makes him less valuable
Can vs Wanyama – Can will be more valuable in the long run, but for now draw
Lallana vs Eriksen – draw
Coutinho vs Son – Coutinho
Mane vs Alli – draw for now, but Dele Alli will be more valuable in the long run
Firmino vs Kane – have to go for Kane, although their role in the team is very different.

Spurs first team wins 4:1.

This thread started on a very good and positive premise ... it has now descended into a distasteful Spurs love-in
