if they fail to win the league, making it 7 years old fuck all would you want whinger sacked?
do you think he deserves the sack?
I ask because my best friend is a gooner and he is getting 'twitchy' and I was saying the usual

he's a winner
he's won the league
consistant CL football achieved on a shoe string

so, what do you think?

When does a winner no long deserve to be called a winner? 7 years is a long time in football. I think he needs to ditch his reliance on unearthing gems and but established talent.

Just over a month ago Wenger was talking about a possible quadruple and I laughed. He is a delusional, arrogant ass.

Fire him!

He never actually said that they could win the quadruple though, he just said they were still challenging on 4 fronts.

The Arsenal board either need to insist that he spends some cash on proven quality or move him back stage and get somebody fresh in.

I was wondering if Arsenal would look to move Wenger to DOF and bring in someone young and hungry? He does have an eye for talent.

Arsednal. They're 90% business 10% footie. Young kids and hardly an BIG purchases. Wide fan base that's kept happy with young players with potential and skill, the odd vet and a manager that makes them play pretty togger. That all keeps everything ticking over nicely with the fans saying we win fuck all but at least we look boss doing it. I hope they pull their fingers from the shitty spaces they've lost them in and win the fucking league instead of cunt fc or ming utd.

I think with the emergence of City and Spurs now is a very very risky time to be taking chances.

They may not have won much recently, but Wenger is keeping them competitive in an increasingly competitive environment.

I'm not so sure a new manager would be able to just go in there, spend 40M and win the league. A lot relies on Wenger and it'd be the end of an era. That kind of thing is difficult to handle at the best of times.

If I were an Arsenal fan, I'd be all for holding onto Wenger.

I'd be a bit pissed off with Wenger. Just go out and buy a keeper FFS. Song is becoming a strong CM for them but they need some more experience in the side. Vermalen is obviously a big loss for them too. Wenger's past record and constant qualifications for CL will guarantee him more time. They 'compete' each year but need to buy a few players who can give them that little push to bring home a major trophy again.

Arsenal fans have cited new stadium, high turnover, CL qualification and lovely football as substitutes for not winning a trophy. But how long can they keep their head's in the sand. I think Wenger is the right man for them but he needs to be less stubborn and go the extra mile to bring home the bacon.

who is going to do a better job than whinger given arsenal wage structure or purchases and if they are going to give a new guy money to spend they may as well give it to whinger.

if I were an arsenal fan I definately wouldn't want him sacked.

Yep - there's little logic in removing Wenger.

It's too his credit that he's got a side performing better than the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.

For now at least, Arsenal will just have to grin and bear it, and hope Wenger finally adds some experience into his squad.

He needs leadership, a new CB, and a keeper.

Not sure if that was directed at me Neil but I said above I think he is the right man for them.

not directed at anyone, just my thoughts on the subject 🙂

Now would be a MENTAL time to get rid of Wenger. Should UEFA actually follow through with this FFP thing, Arsenal would easily be the strongest position in 3 seasons time.

This.

He needs to change the attitude. Theres no real leaders in that arsenal team. Cesc isnt a leader anyway. Everyone i know called a fall apart in march.....including myself! It just seems to happen every year! Also i recall some pundit saying that theres no fear or repercussions in the dressing room after mistakes...he used the example of Fabregas's backheel that led to Barcas goal last week and the way that nobody probably pulled him on it! I know wenger has to back his players in public and all, as every manager should but i feel like he has some blind spots i.e the constant lack of a competent keeper! I just think he's a bit of a pussy if im honest...ha!

He has a definite eye for talent in midfield and attack. His judgment on defenders and goalkeepers is much less impressive, as is his fixation with developing youth to the exclusion of almost any other approach. If I were a Gooner (and I could well have been, as my dad was one) I wouldn't want him gone yet, but I'd want the board to lay the law down to him about strengthening the side and I'd be fairly relaxed about the consequences if he didn't like that.

Keni has is spot on. To get rid of Wenger would be silly. He's a good manager still and there's no guarantees someone else will come in, spend money and do any better.

it'd be unthinkable to sack him because he's one of the best around, HOWEVER, i'd be getting more than a little irritated if i was an arsenal fan because i think he really has become a bit unhinged in his stubbornness: they've had the same glaringly obvious problems for years now but he just refuses to take the easy option. it's not even as if it'd be particularly expensive to address the problems, all they need is a goalkeeper and a leader, either at centre-half or centre-mid.

they're 2 good buys from being the best team in the league, just like they've been for about 3 years.

maybe from being perfect, but that's very seldom required. a GK and either a tony adams or pat vieira type would improve them big time.

If they had Maschreano and Reina they would have won a couple of titles by now.
Of course if we had bought Arshavin instead of Keane we would have won the Premiership in 08/09

I applied for the Liverpool job (when Rafa got it) and never got a reply. Shortly after I saw Rick Parry outside the club shop and asked him why he didn't reply. He joked that he's been busy and next time to come and see him in person.

Sadly the next time such as opportunity arose Mr Parry had left the club 🙁
