I really liked him..

Yeah actually Smicer is a top shout.
I remember him holding and kissing the badge after his penalty in Istanbul on his final game for the club.
No self indulgence just a thank you to the fans.
Legend.

Yep. He knew he was gone after the game, but he came on and scored both during the 90 and in the shootout. He was never a favourite of mine, because he never had the physical power or mental strength to fulfil his potential in the Prem, but that night he (like many others) buckled down and did his job in literally a once-in-a-lifetime way.

Vlad Smicer YNWA.

Rush was pushed out by the club, trying to build bridges after heysel. Imagine that now. Raheem, hey son, you're a great technician now boy, and we really think you'll do a wonderful job with great character as a false nine just tucked in behind al maquala el tala shaquicwibaz for ISIS. You've got two weeks to grow your beard out you and then you're off to Syria you little fucking scrote.

Soz I've been up all night.

I always liked Smicer and Berger, though Vlad was only useful in home games. Garcia was another favourite. Maybe i favour skillful players. Then again i thought Burrows was a good player , who seemed to overcome skill with effort and endeavour. Gutted when Souness swapped him and marsh for the shitbrick Julian Dicks.

Berger was a cunt. He nearly mowed me down coming out the gates at Melwood.

Kuyt's been my favourite Liverpool player of the last 20 years.

Maybe I'm naive but he was the only one who's attitude you could never question. And Carragher I guess, but Dirk's a bit more likeable.

The likes of Agger, Suarez, Toores, Mashcherano, Balotelli, Sterling can get fucked.

Why Agger? Dirk did an interview with the S*n

I just thought Agger was always in it for himself. Not as bad as the others mentioned I'll admit, but he seemed to moan like a prick in the last year or two when he wasn't getting a game.

Plus I always thought he was overrated.

I think agger was really good at one point but is the perfect example of a player who got worse. So much for peaks and players getting better until some magic age.

I liked Steve Finnan.

He was really good for us at RB, very reliable.

Never one you'd read about in the papers/tabloids (as far as I know) - just went about his job as a footballer in a professional manner.

Also, we've not really had a decent RB since him!

Great shout roopdawg.

In my relatively short (compared to some of you) time of supporting Liverpool (since 2004), the player I have admired most of all as a person is Xabi Alonso. Absolute class on the field and off it. Yes, he left, but he remained LFC fan and friend even while playing for the most glamorous football club in the world - how many other players can say the same?

Also it's strange no one has Lucas on their list. His attitude has been every bit as good as Kuyt's.

For me (since 2004):

GK Dudek (I guess... Although I really liked Reina before he started agitating for the move)
CB Hyypia
CB Agger (those YNWA tattoos and "the elbow" should count for something)
RB Carragher
LB Sakho
DM Lucas
CM Xabi Alonso
CM Didi Hamann
AM Coutinho
AM Sterling Henderson
ST Torres Suarez Kuyt

Hyypia and Alonso my favourites over the last 15 years.

In the current team, I really love Coutinho. Great talent, and very likeable.

Like Can loads as well - but he needs to become really good first, and not be a cunt once he gets good.

Of the guys in the current squad, I reckon that if Sakho has a decent career here, he'll be in this list in the future. He's either really adept at the whole PR business, or he's a genuinely friendly and warm fella (see also: his visits to the local schools and hospitals).

I think it's the latter (unless you're playing against him of course). He could easily get away with doing fewer school visits etc.if he wanted to.

I love Dirk, but in the same way I love my dog. He's just a massive dickhead who loves cuddles.
