I need cheering up...

If we fail to make significant headway in our owners financial position then, however painful, medium term logic presents a strong case for selling Torres and Mascher (and then Gerrard would leave too) for as much as we can, take the incredible hurt, but start the stadium with the proceeds. By doing that everyone would be clear that Liverpool Football Club is undergoing major reconstructive surgery and will be back stronger than we are now.

None of us want it this way, but it is a way forward when all the other positions are entrenched (owners refuse to sell, Rafa can't be sacked due to cost, etc)

If we lose Torres, Masher and Gerrard our team becomes weaker and the stadium would become a complete white elephant. We simply wont fill a stadium with a crap team.

Tom Hicks promised us a big summer 😉

Tom Hicks is a proven liar. And a 'big' summer could mean anything

Worrying bit from the Guardians sportssection about interest from potential suitors if we can't get into the CL.
they're talking shit. failure to get into the CL will increase interest in the club not decrease it. no CL and the value of the club (and therefore the asking price) would have decreased this will make liverpool a more attractive propersition.

you don't know that for a fact. manu were pulling in high attendances even when they were relagated.

Not at £40 a ticket they weren't. Football was much more affordable back then

There is that argument. But, we are, as people have pointed out, one of the biggest clubs in world football and I think with the right manager in place at the right time, good players will still come to us at the time we are ready with the new stadium.

Also, we are going to 'lose' the Gerrard we know before the stadium is ready, even if they began building today. He's 30 in May and is already not looking like the player he was (although that may be mental rather than physical).

we were getting high attendances in the 90's despite not wining or challenging for years.
who where the stars? robbie and macca. hardly global icons, you could argue owen sold a lot of shirts but he wasn't the reason anfield was packing out every week.

We have plenty of gifted footballers, who, under the right guidance and providing they stay injury free, can bounce us back into the Champions League next year. That's the one glimmer of hope I cling onto.

...I seriously do. I'm really really worried about the direction our club is going in. We've owners who haven't got a pot to piss in and clearly don't give a fuck about Liverpool Football Club apart from what they can rape and pillage out of us. We've a manager who cannot motivate his players and plays constantly boring unattractive and negative football even when we've really got fuck all else to lose and we may as well go for the win. We've players who look disinterested, lethargic, passionless and fed up. We're heavily in debt that's restricting our ability to operate as a top tier club. We've a severe lack of worthwhile interested investors (WHY is that?). The new home kit (if it's real) looks shite. We've no chance at a CL spot. If we get through to the shitty Europa losers cup it means we've got a season of shitty Sunday/Monday and Thursday night games to look forward to. Oh and Channel fucking Five. Season tickets will probably go up again. The stadium is nowhere to be seen. We're going to start losing our best players before long. I'm starting to go into denial - I'm trying not to think about LFC at all. It may all go away.

But it won't the reality is fucking glaring. We're so fucked and heading in a direction none of us want but feel powerless to do anything about ? What do we do ? Boycott games and fuck off our support for the club? We can't do that. The only way the owners will get hit is if we start hitting the cunts in the pockets - which again is hard to do as it detriments the club as a whole.

So - go on, brighten my day up. Give me some much needed LFC light at the end of this long narrow and gloomy tunnel. I need it. Desperately.

I was full of the joys of Spring until I read that. Nice one.

Good. everyone will soon be as morose as me. apart from DB of course who's cheery demeanour cannot be compromised.

Surely given how wank this season has been and that next year we won't have CL footy, there is no possible way they can have the justification for increasing season ticket prices.

I've spent the past 45 mins with vodka and Portishead.

I'm moroser.

It's a good thing my wife's flat windows ar barred; as that combo with Rafa's tactics might leave me a bloody mess on the concrete.

I'm not sure my professional liability insurance covers me if I'm drunk.

I've taken to working out and listening to upbeat music. And palming loads of antidepressants at work. Stock bottle of Prozac for anyone on here who needs it!

i doubt that'll cheer you up. i'd recommend some nice escapist literature such as Jeeves & Wooster, well known for its palliative qualities, or possibly even a Bond novel. or perhaps you're a fan of that modern day bertie wooster, larry david, and the great Curb Your Enthusiasm?

something like that should help.

Erm... Well, Amy let me do bad things to her when she came home this evening, 'cos she was in that sexy business outfit that I love.

Cheered me up, if that helps.

Trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked…You’re not as fat as you imagine.

Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you. Sing. Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.

Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own.. Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room. Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them. Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders.

Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85. Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

If anyone can read through that and still come up with something positive to cheer you up, they're a better man than me
This made me laugh.
