I am the invisible man

Technically gifted player who makes us play better when we're dominating matches and carving teams apart, but isn't responsible for that happening in the first place and he plays like a shit house coward in any other circumstance.

I've never been a fan and would rather Chamberlain start 9 times out if 10.

It's good the way it only cost us 25 million for a like for like replacement for Lucas.

To be fair, he doesn't give stupid fouls away. If he did I'd notice he was on the pitch.

If you're looking at typical midfield stats like goals, assists, interceptions and tackles, I bet Wijnaldum is below Can, Henderson and Milner, despite playing more games than the latter two, and he's certainly below Chamberlain for goals/ assists too.

I suspect he's probably top of the "what the fuck does he actually do?" table, though.

As the "glue" or fucking something.

Gini is an odd one alright. I can only presume he is playing within himself after finding himself in a new role with Liverpool. Let's not forget he was a flair player back in Holland and showed great attacking instincts with Newcastle.

He was dubbed the Dutch Ronaldinho when he first broke into the team. I realise a tag like that can be branded about a bit easily at times but he was doing elasticos and step overs, running at players non stop etc. I've no idea why he has played so reservedly so often since his move to us.

I like Gini but there have been too many games this season when the phrase "quietly inefficient" seems as if it was coined for him.

Yes he recycles possession, but so does hendo and he gets slated for it

Wijnaldum is a shithouse 75% of the time

Nah, he was excellent. You're wronger than incest. Which in your family is especially wrong.
Nah nah nah

Magical night and Yadda Yadda Yadda, but he was passive and hesitant in closing down.

And there's nowt wrong with our piedro. He's a catch

Was he shite
He did 1 run forward of note, otherwise he shit out of a lot of tackles

What I saw was someone who tracked a tonne of runs, used his body to win the ball heaps and moved himself out of trouble under pressure a few times.

He's incredibly strong on the ball in tight spots.

He helped TAA a lot

Bit of a tug, though

That's fine on the pitch but those fans outside are dick heads.

I won't be surprised to see us getting a big sanction for it.

Would serve us right to play our semi final game behind closed doors.

Utterly fucking stupid.

By tracking runs, do you mean running near the player, without actually putting them under pressure and not blocking any avenues for passes?

Maybe I'm being harsh, especially after the shift Oxo put in. But fresh legged, he should have done a fuck ton more. At 90mins Milner and hendo were still bombing towards players to force a pass. wijnaldum just stands nearby.

How would that help? My lads and all their mates had no tickets but went the ground just to annoy the cunts on the way in.

But back on topic. It was 3-0 and we were under pressure when he came on. We were 3-0 and under pressure when it finished. I think this is the top of his game.

It wouldn't but it would punish the club massively as I've zero doubt the atmosphere helped us massively.

He was superb when he came on

Nah, not really. I thought his job was to almost man-mark Silva, who in the 2nd half moved up into the space between Trent and Lovren, trying to help out Sane. And yet, on at least one occasion he completely lost his man, which led to one of City's best chances of the game. His passing was as unadventurous as ever, the only thing he did well was hold the ball up, as @doctor_mac says "playing with his arse." But a top midfielder should have more in his arse-nal, if you pardon the pun.
