how much do you think this lot will fetch?

Konchesky and Jovanovic has hardly (or never) made the bench since the turn of the year. It's evident that we're on the look out for a LB too. Their departure will hardly hit us tbh. If strength of squad depth is measured by numbers, we would've been strong in this aspect over the past seasons, wouldn't we? 😛

We get very little value from them, but they do need replacing. Our squad is quite thin. A few injuries and we're fucked.

I would have no problem with selling those 4 players replacing them with ONE first teamer and then using youth to fill the gaps of the other three

cole - patcheco
jove - new winger
poulsen - jonjo
cuntchesky - wilson

if we'd sold all four in the jan window and brought in young, the first team would be stronger and the depth of the sqaud no worse off.
of course the depth of the squad would be worse! four players gone, one in, that's less depth by definition!
these players hardly ever play, that's not sqaud depth that just making up the numbers.

£10m for those 4 and hopefully £14m for Aquilani. If NESV give Kenny and extra £25m to spend in the summer then that will give him about £50m to buy 2 wide players and a left back.

I'm not ready to write Cole off yet, we need to give him a run of games. Has he been injured? Otherwise it means Kenny doesn't fancy him either I guess as he hasn't featured under him at all

x2

I still think Cole can be a very good player for us.

I think you're all living in La-la land.

La-la-land?

we don't have the depth of squad to just let 4 senior players leave with no replacements, though, so we'll never save all those wages.

i suppose i can see that £5m or so difference in valuation is not very material, but i thought we were talking about what we could get for them, and just on that narrow point i think £5m is a big undervaluation. for example, we got around £7m for nemeth, leto and san jose, who played about 3 first team games between them.
Yeah I agree. We have been fairly lucky with injuries this season and that's why squad players haven't got to play much but they are needed still. Way I see it is we dump the deadwood and buy new first teamers with some of the current first team becoming squad players(Kuyt, Lucas etc). We'll improve the first team and squad overall without putting much extra burden on our wage bill(if we are savvy it might still be even reduced a bit).

We need 2 wide players, a left back and a DM. If we get to spend only 25 million out of pocket, then we are going to have to be very creative (and hopefully lucky) in how we spend that money.

It's also not realistic expect all weakness to be addressed in just one transfer window i guess....so i'll take what we can get. Hopefully we will have better luck in the transfer window going forward..

In the last minutes of the Winter window, we had bids in for Micha Richards 20M Adam 10M Young 20M. what makes you think we will only have 25M?

FSG will be delighted with the january transfer window. The season was already more or less finished in terms of finishing top 4 and Torres insisting on a move was a massive massive stroke of fortune from their point of view.

An expensive highly saleable player, dissaffected and injury prone insists on a transfer for a very large fee.

ACES as far as FSG is concerned.

Now they were in a position where they could reduce the wage bill and not have to find any real net investment in January... perfect...

Now they could have been cunts but...then they showed how they are different from GnH...

What i liked is that they didnt baulk one bit at the large fee for Carroll, 35 fucking million!! And they went and paid it... bravo to them... expensive yes, ridiculously expensive even but the point is the value does matter paying that fee made the point quite clearly, if it is required and will definitely make the team better then these fellas do mean business.

I'm confident that there will be real important investment in the team in Summer, so far the haven't touched any war chest, i'm sure of it in fact, and next season if we continue walking with our helds held high we will be challenging again.

Its great to be an LFC fan right now it really is.
