How about a January Striker because you are lacking goals

ross' suggestions make sound business sense (apart from the manager having no effect on the team which I think is bullshit). for instance ross' suggestion of selling suarez for 40m and spending that 40m on two attacking players of (probably) less quality but combined give more balance to the team and contribute more goals and assists than suarez would have managed alone. however it's a very risky strategy that could ultimately fill your team with medicority.

How is that better? We are using two of our eleven positions to combine and be slightly better than what we'd have got from one.

Yeh but the example wasn't replacing one player with two better players was it.

I think you're being too literal, it was only an example of replacing one player who gives you 'X' and replacing him with two players who will hopefully be greater than the sum of the parts, like what we did with torres.

I was talking about the 'idea' rather than the reality. that's why when ross says he would take 40m for suerez to reinvest back into the squad, the 'idea' makes sound business sense but the 'reality' may be totally different. and for the record I wouldn't sell suarez because I don't trust us to spend the money wisely, we've wasted money for half a decade and I've seen little evidence that is about to change.

I recall Ross being delighted with our summer transfers with only Downing being singled out as perhaps the risky signing. But a big thumbs up overall was given. Shame about the lost data... but I'm pretty sure the something along the lines of "can't see a failure in there" was said.

Rosco:

"I am delighted with the players we managed to bring in during the summer transfer window. I mainly wanted us to bring in players that were better than we already had and for me we've done that".

I stopped taking them seriously when i saw he had that many.
lol

You are the funniest poster on SCM Rafa4.

Or else you are the most severely deluded.

I waiver between the two on a daily basis.

heh heh
ironic that ross' own words have been dragged up to haunt him when he has done that to so many posters in the past

You might like these ones as well Spidey....

Rosco:

"When Suarez has played well, we have played well".

"He's not just our most potent goalscorer, he's our most creative player, as well".

"In my opinion, he has quickly become one of the best strikers in the English Premier League. There are strikers who are better goalscorers than him, but for my money there's nobody that has his all-round game".

wow! are you sure that is from ross?

You can't label me a troll then drag up old quotes as if they were representative of my true opinion.
You've no idea what I really think.

And neither do i

you do it all the time. when I was defending the downing signing you dragged up my qoute where I say 'meh' when downing was originally linked absolutely ages ago.

We tried to loan De Jong and Castaignos but the parent clubs wouldn't play ball
Liverpool have made an approach for Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos in the hope of completing a summer deal for his services, reports in his native Holland have claimed.
Much was hoped of the 19-year-old when he moved to the San Siro from Feyenoord in June of last year, having scored 16 goals during his debut season in the Eredivisie.
But Castaignos has made only six appearances for Inter this season, five of which have come as a substitute, and he could yet leave the club after only one year in Milan.

According to esteemed Dutch football magazine Voetbal International, Liverpool are aware of his situation, and he has previously held a secret meeting with Kenny Dalglish regarding a move to Anfield.
The Liverpool boss reportedly informed the youngster he would like him to move to Merseyside during the January transfer window, but Inter have put any potential deal on hold until the summer.
Dalglish is now expected to reignite his interest in the youngster at the end of the season, in the hope of bolstering his goalscoring options in time for the next campaign.
Castaignos certainly has plenty of potential, and his acquisition could be seen as quite a coup for Liverpool.

Ah....the "new Thierry Henry"

I'd settle for that, but i'm hoping he turns to shite .

I know it's wrong, but i've got a little soft spot for him since his goals against the scum.
