Yep.
These defensive errors put immense pressure on our frontline to score 2-3 goals every game. I can't see them doing that.

He was great. Covered across all night, got up and down, did a bang up job for me. All if the back 4 were good.
Interesting I'll watch the game after work but everything I'm reading says Lovren was a mistake waiting to happen before the penalty and wasn't very good and played them inside for their goal, Moreno was caught out by their diagonal balls all game and his positioning and final ball was poor.

It seems Mane and TAA were head and shoulders above everyone else.

I genuinely dont think you realise how good a team is this that we just coped fairly comfortably with.
I was expecting a real test and we coped so well.
Mignolet had to make I think one proper save all game.

Youre being harsh.
This isnt a Palace/Stoke standard, this is a Spurs, Everton level team.
I appreciate they're not shite or a hoofball side, believe me, I was expecting a loss tonight, and I'm elated with a win

Moreno was comfortably caught out multiple times by their wing back, and lovren made a hash of a majority of stiff that came near him. Both of them were guilty of some atrocious positioning throughout the night.

Attacking wise Moreno only got involved when milner came on, as milner frequently dropped back to allow those runs

And his end product was still crap

MOM top 3:

  1. Mane – as much as I like TAA's performance, Mane was by far our most dangerous player on the pitch all game.
  2. Trent – great goal that turned the flow of the game completely and a mature performance. Need to look more closely at the goal we conceded to see if he was culpable.
  3. Mignolet – crucial saved penalty and several strong saves that kept us in the game.
Honorable mention – Matip. Kept the defense together despite all the problems. Just needs a good partner.

And watch lovren play the fella onside

And Matip casually jog as well

Don't get how you think he setter positioned than Matip to make a tackle, when as you say, he was further away, and behind the man

When the ball makes it to their attacker he is a couple of feet away, less distance than he was ahead of the line even ignoring the time spent not making up the ground. Not impressed with Matip either but he did have have a man, the goalscorer was behind him who only Trent could see.

Biggest disappointment was gini

Another way game, another awful performance

Moreno covered across on the diagonal all night, quite often being left isolated 2 on 1 so thats bollocks.

I'll rip the kid when he fucks up but to have a go at him tonight is bollocks. Worked hard and did his job.

For me Salah was the worst but the 3 in midfield again were almost invisible all night. No one owned the middle of the park. Milner improved things late in but Can, Wijnaldum and Henderson is a fucking nadir for me and I mean in 40 years of watching. Its pedestrian half hearted pissweak shite.

You're gonna
As long as yer ma still meets me after for a game of hide the bishop i'll live
You'll need a spade she's been dead for twenty years, still you stay classy now, thought I'd found a site that could handle an opinion, oh well on with the search.

Our midfield went totally AWOL. I don't know why Henderson was taken off but it was a mercy. Can and Wijnaldum unable to keep possession and I'd hate to see the number of turnovers. Though credit to Hoffenheim as they filled the midfield and pressured us for the first 60 mins.

That said Lovren and Moreno were awful, again.
Moreno almost let them in early doors getting nutmegged and left stone dead out near the corner, and was then at fault for leaving Lovren totally alone, he was literally nowhere near, for the penalty, and again later when he totally lost his man, or the ball, or both and we were lucky the Hoffenheim guy did nothing with it from 8m out.
Lovren not keeping the defensive line for their goal, rash in the tackle (though it was soft) for the penalty and then stupidly disputing a FK with the referee (have you ever seen a FK decision reversed in those situations ?) left them able to take a quick FK, cross it and Moreno was all alone at the back - we were very lucky to escape again there.

The positives were AA, again my MOTM after the same vs. Watford and the sheer number of chances we created (but somehow failed to put away), Salah x2, Lovren x2, Firmino, Mane and then the fucking ref. totally missing our advantage when we were 3 on 1 in the final third !

Can't see us not scoring a couple more at Anfield and there's no way they are scoring three or more.

Aaah man dont leave so soon. I was only joshin. Sorry about yer ma.
I'll bang your sister or hot cousin instead.

Stick around. Dont be a quim.

Hoffenheim were decent. I think the score like flattered us. It certainly flattered our shit defence.

Mane is just sensational. Our best wide forward since Barnes. Every bit as good and important as Coutinho.

Lovren, Henderson, Can, Matip and Moreno all ranged from average to shite

Wijnaldum predictability did another vanishing act.

Front three aren't clicking fluidly just yet but they remain extremely dangerous

Klopp is a moron for playing Moreno in a game of this importance.

TAA, a lucky deflection and Mignolet covered up plenty of cracks.

Salah looked lively I thought , linked up very well with TAA and firmino, he should've scored but as a starting point his first two competitive appearances have been good
Yes he should have. The useless Gypo

Also Moreno had a few moments where he bombed on like a nugget and left us short at the back but he was also hung out to dry by everyone around him all night , got fuck all assistance

Gini is a real problem in these kind of games.
I cannot even rate him as I'm not sure he was even there.

He had a few good moments but there were significant periods where I forgot he was on the pitch.
