Higuain Fancies Liverpool move

Great player. We should have made the move 3 years ago. Now he is 28 and I dont think Napoli will let him go for anything less than 60-70 million. Given his age, there is a very high risk of him not adapting to the PL.

He would cost a lot, but would he be an upgrade on Sturridge? They are both greedy natural goal-scorers who don't contribute much else. You can only afford one player of this type in the team and we already have one – and he has a cooler goal celebration.

Sturridge (26) in LFC: 92 games, 54 goals, 26 assists
Higuain (28) in Serie A: 104 games, 71 goal, 16 assists

And Higuain has already scored the same amount of goals as Trezeguet did in his entire career.
Odd comparison and two totally different players.

I think Ryan is comparing the two as both players can drift through games without doing much and then BANG, goal. They exist to sniff out chances and score goals instead of being involved in play throughout the 90 mins. Trez was also linked to us when Houiller was in charge. Hig has been linked to us for the past 5 or six years.

I love The Hig btw.

We probably have a bigger chance of getting Trezeguet out of retirement then spending 70 mill £ on Higuain mind.

I suspect our summer budget would be enough to cover that, but there wouldn't be a whole lot left. I can't think of anyone, Higuain included, that we're remotely likely to get on whom I'd want to spend all that money anyway.

Not sure about that. Think he meant it as a criticism.
Did not see any luxury car comparison.

Yeh but in how many Seasons has Higuain done that ?

If Sturridge goes to Arsenal, then snap this fella up..

Though I don't think he falls within the ethos of the club..

28 is too old for FSG

Liverpool will agree deal for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain ‘very soon’ [BeIN SPORTS]

Anyone really believe this will happen?

I randomly read the article in which that was quoted googling for Hector Herrera and it is speculative bollocks.

They were saying Herrera will move to Napoli within 2 weeks once Higuain moves to Liverpool. Only to then go on and say that Herrera might actually move to Liverpool.

One thing is always going to be true for success in league football - you need someone who can score goals out of nothing, regularly. It papers over the cracks when you're not playing well, and it capitalises on domination when you are.

The 3 times we've come close to the title in the last 20 years were the 3 times we've had shit hot strikers that could score goals out of nothing. (Suarez, Torres, Owen)

Higuain's the kind of player that nicks you a 1-0 win away at teams like West Brom even though you've played pretty shite for 90 minutes.

This unfortunately will not happen. No way will FSG spend that type of money on a 28 year old.

So either Klopp was sat there with his brother/agent by coincidence or there is more to this. The fact hes even met his Klopp is even talking to his agent suggested this is far more concrete than we first imagined.

Still probably wont happen

Liverpool have no interest in Gonzalo Higuain. #lfc (Echo)

Take that optimistic fuckers!

the inter-web in itself is hilarious over this..

Stories popping up everywhere now.. all coming to the conclusion that a deal imminent, with nothing really concrete to back it up...
