3 things:

1 - Cut and paste the bloody article mate.
2 - Isn't this what he came out with on Friday anyway?
3 - He's absolutely spot on. If it was the other way around, and they were trying to get one of our players like this, we'd be fuming.

Only saw this now, must have missed it Friday aswel.

He has a right not to be happy but did Bruce equate it to him trying to sign Gerrard on loan? Haha.

That's like a waitress telling you to go get your own food from the kitchen.

Nah, when I come to your thread, I want to get served.

So please give me the quotes where we have said we wanted to sign Jones on loan or otherwise. Its all paper talk as far as Im concerned, just like man City wanting Torres for 100M.

Beachball head can fuck off as far as Im concerned

Despite the fact we aren't in touch with Sunderland (as Bruce says), or the player or his agent (no quotes) we are "known to have been keen to lure Jones to Anfield". How so?

The rumour mill is indeed in full swing. I'm always amazed how keen people are to swallow these stories, especially if it casts the club in a bad light (even more amazing from supposed fans!).

As he says himsel, Bruce hasn't even spoken to the player yet, perhaps he was just responding to a mischievous question?

Only a week till we find out....ooooh can't wait.

He's 1000% correct.

We have acted like cnuts in this situation.

No chance of getting him on loan.

Can you explain exactly where we've been acting like "cunts"?

Yeah, I'm at a loss as well. I haven't seen one quote that even confirms we're in for Jones.

I bet no one would be able to find many direct quotes from Madrid when they are trying to unsettle players through the media either. It's obvious what we are doing quotes or not.

Exactly.

But it does make you wonder about all the previous rumours (about a large loan fee being the problem) when Bruce is saying we haven't been in contact.

although this bit from Bruce does not categorically deny there could have been. ............
" as far as I am aware nobody has talked to my chief executive, or the chairman - nobody from Liverpool"

To be honest I think Madrid may not be the best example to make your point on this one. They are one club who always come right out and say they want a player. lonso and Ronaldo as prime examples.

We have done nothing of the kind

What we're doing now with Jones is exactly what we did with Barry. Unless we were never after Barry and it was all made up too.

Gerrard came out and openly discussed wanting Barry as a teammate. Rafa also made it obvious with his public comments that Barry "was a good player".

So it's not really the same. That pursuit was indeed shameless. Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't actually seen ONE quote from our camp expressing a remote interest in Jones.
I haven't checked all the Jones thread so perhaps I've missed one? Have we confirmed interest in him?

I thought we actually made financial bids for Barry that were turned down. Maybe Im wrong

Eventually we did.

'it's like us trying to get Steven Gerrard on loan'

That is sublimely ridiculous.

I'm sure that'd really unsettle the player & club, Sunderland trying to take Stevie on loan.

Like the Chelsea saga all over again.

Or not, you stupid, fat-headed cunt.

It doesn't really matter what analogy he's using and there is no real counter-argument other than "he's a fat headed cunt".

All he's trying to do is restore a bit of credibility to the club and give back some confidence to the fans or whoever because a club like ours trying to get one of their more recognized players on loan midway through the season *is* a little bizarre.

Is Bruce unsettling his own player? No one from the club has made contact, yet there is this discussion going on at some level. Maybe Bruce is just being a blind Mackam twats are believing whatevers posted on F365.

Fuck them, the shit mackam shitcunts.

Fat head needs to get his facts right.

BENITEZ PLAYS DOWN KENWYNE JONES ROW
Posted 25/01/10 14:41EmailPrintSave

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez played down claims by Sunderland counterpart Steve Bruce that the club have been "disrespectful" in their attempts to sign Black Cats striker Kenwyne Jones.

Bruce said last week that the Reds had tried to unsettle the Trinidad and Tobago international, whom Benitez is believed to want to sign on loan to cover for a six-week lay-off to striker Fernando Torres.

Benitez today insisted he had not been involved at all in any negotiations and was concentrating on football matters.

"I was not dealing with this," said the Liverpool boss.

"(Managing director) Christian Purslow has been talking with (Sunderland chairman) Niall Quinn so they have to manage the situation because I was not doing anything.

"I prefer not to talk too much because we will create a debate so Christian and Niall will continue to talk if they need to talk.

"They were in contact but I don't know what the situation is now."

On Friday, Bruce said: "I find it hugely disrespectful, the antics of Liverpool and this constant badgering of Kenwyne Jones, when we as a club haven't heard anything.

"I don't know whether they are serious or whether Rafa is playing games with his board. It might be power games at Liverpool."

Privately Liverpool are understood to be angry at Bruce's comments, particularly as it's understood preliminary talks have been taking place between the clubs since last month

So there it is for all those who insisted if there wasn't a quote, it wasn't happening.

Happy now ?

I think the point people were making over the quotes was to do with how we were acting?

Chairman speaks to chairman, that's surely the correct way of doing business. Its not behaving like "cunts", its the correct way to do it.

Now, whether we should be in for him or not is another matter!

If what Rafa says is true there, then it appears that the lack of communication and clarity is between fat head and his chairman.
