Look at the foot that kicked the ball, it's clearly half way through breaking his ankle, poor the Aurelio.

Fabio

Looks like he has recovered from a leg injury and is back in training if he didn't pick up a new injury while i was typing this message.

Enrique and Robinson are good enough to have the LB spot covered.

I like Aurelio, but I'd be telling him to find a new club pronto.

We are pretty well covered on the left, sort of, but I don't see the harm in keeping him around for another season. He is quality experienced back up. Only takes a couple of injuries before we are scrambling around desperately trying to fit square pegs in round holes. If Enrique, god forbid, was injured for months, would you REALLY want to rely on Robinson? I know we can move players from other positions (Johnson, Agger), but I dont want to mess needlessly with a working defensive unit. If we can afford it, we should keep him.

such a good player , so calm on the ball , i really think if he'd of stayed fit he would have made left back his own for the last few seasons. As it is i expect he'll be off in the summer . Crazy to think this is his 6th season with us , doesn't feel like that long at all .

fullback is the only position in the squad we are ideally stocked

good first choices
quality backups
promising youth

on both sides, plus johnsons performances on the left make up for aurelios injury liabilities

how I wish our wings were the same

This

He can also do a good job in midfield. When fit he's the kind of player that suits our play. I can't see any reason to get rid, assuming he can get over the injury problems* and that he's not taking up too big a wage.

*And yeah, I know that's unlikely.

I think he's a good footballer when fit but he's not worth the wages (if he's not on pay as you play that is) just because he's (almost) never fit.

If fit he should be in midfield ahead of both Downing and Spearing.
Arguably the best crosser in the team.
It'll never happen though 'cause DCDNW apparently.

the thing is, nobody would deny that Fabs and Riise or even Stevie Finnan could do a good job in midfield, but whenever anyone moots the idea of Glenjo being tried on the wing we always get the usual naysaying crowd going 'oooooh no, now that's dangerous talk!'.

Because aurelio and riise were better then johnson

No, it's because they all played both for club and for country in that position in their time. Magic has rarely played there throughout his career.

Very true

But riise and aurelio were better full backs who speed a lot more going forwards.

Especially crossing

Johnson's crossing is fucking gash though.

To be frank (whether Frank likes it or not), our defence hasn't been our problem this season, in fact it's our greatest asset, & I think tinkering with it to employ an idea that he might be good there is a fucking stupid idea & is asking for trouble.

got to be better than downing on the left wing?
[/quote]
No shit.

good player but unfortunately made of cheese. not hard cheese like stilton, we're talking brie that has been left in The Lying Rag for a couple of hours.

but isn't cheese, especially soft cheese, actually quite supple and malleable? surely he's more cracker than cheese.
