At a Q&A with Ronnie Whelan several years ago, when asked the best players he'd ever played with, he said 'Graeme Souness' without a second's pause... He was reminded that he'd played with The King for much of his career, and he smiled and simply repeated 'Graeme Souness'.
That night in Eurpoe when he bagged the hattrick of goals from outside the box was incredible... What a player. So hard, he elbowed Ronnie in the face when celebrating that Milk Cup Final replay winner against everton! 🙂 I remember, because of him, I bought a pair of Dunlop boots one season... They looked good on him! Worst fecking boots ever...
