It's not confusing the issue Skully, and I haven't 'shifted' anything

You kinda have though.

You called Firmino (and I'm paraphrasing cos I can't be fucked finding the quote) 'a flabby cunt who should never be in Sturridge's place in the side' a few weeks back.

Really Brendan? You've gone from he's fucking shit last year, to he doesn't score enough goals, to he doesn't score enough goals for a main striker, you've changed your story more times than Roberto's got awful haircuts, have some dignity and admit you were utterly, hilariously, wrong about him, it's getting a little embarrassing.

firmino being shite is now hugely laughable as well. though brendan has shifted it to 'he's not a striker' to confuse the issue.

Brendan is right - he is not a striker. But I also get what Brendan is saying - it is hard to put ones finger on Firminio because of the style of his play - I don't actually expect a lot from him but collectively with both Coutinho / Mane and the rest he becomes something else - like the main focal point of the setup up front.

Sometimes it seems that when he has the ball he nearly always takes too long and shows a complete lack of pace, and often his passing can be loose to say the least. But his control and mastery of the ball is second to none - and I also think he is an outstanding finisher nearly as good as Sturridge.

For the player who is PLAYING as the main striker, and as such is expected to provide the majority of the goals, I'm not sure you could even argue.

He doesn't score enough goals.

Hopefully his goal: game ratio will improve, and by the end of the season he will score 15-20 Premiership goals, because that's generally the requirement for a team that wins the title.

Not sure why you think I have 'changed' my story. All I've said is that he isn't a striker, doesn't score enough goals, and I'd prefer to have a Liverpool team with a genuine striker in it.

What's changed? Nothing.

He's also not a "fat useless spastic" either though, is he?

I called him a 'melt' actually, after he played like one against Burnley.

I think you'll find my comments and ratings have been entirely fair about Firmino in every game, and that I've been mostly positive.

Of course, that doesn't fit the outrage narrative that a few amusingly furious posters have built about my opinion of Firmino, but I could give a fuck.

A fools hope if you think he can score 15-20 goals. He will get closer to 10, and make up the rest by way of assists and possession.

If you fuckers want to do this Firmino debate AGAIN, at least do it in a thread entitled Firmino, or strikers, or fucking something relevant.

Going off topic is one of my favourite things about this site, & not just cos it winds up Ross, but when it's taking a thread off topic to discuss the same thing that's already being tiresome & repetitive in other threads just turns the entire forum into one long drudge.

What if the goals are evenly split between all of our attackers?

In our style it seems as if it's just as likely that Mané and Coutinho will score.

Yeah. 10 goals. About what he scored last season.

It's not enough. Your main striker has to score more than 10 goals if you want to win the title. Which is pretty much ENTIRELY my point.

Show me a title winning side that didn't have a player - or two - who didn't score at least 15.

I've done this loads of times, so I'll save you all the fucking bother. None.

Oh wait, There's maybe one season where Chelsea won and Drogba scored maybe 13 or so, but that's as likely to happen again as Leicester winning the league. (Vardy: 24)

Thought it was a Firmino thread, given all the chat about him before I ever responded.

How odd.

Change in managers have seen a change in players. Many people were questioning the purchase of Firmino last year but change of management and style has suited him.
As to Brenden, he is a lot calmer than before and has changed his views on Rafa. Do you remember the infamous title of his post where he told Rafa to Fuck off? Now, he has fonder memories of him.

Brendan you're not dealing with sun readers in here. look in the match thread. You piss and moan about Firmino all game and then don't even comment when he scores coz you know you look a massive bell. you have tried to shift your view from he's shit to he's not a striker and must think we're all thick

I shifted my view from he's shit to he's boss. It's dead easy. Go on, do it. Admit you were wrong all along, it will feel all warm inside and you won't look so fucking stupid.

He's currently joint top scorer in a team that's currently joint top scorers in the league, and you think goals are the problem, you're argument couldn't be anymore laughable. As for changing your story, give it a rest, you've had it in for him since day one, and you've been inserting caveats to try and save face everytime he makes you look a fool since. Do us all a favour and accept it, cut out the snipes in every fucking match thread, and move on.

I find it interesting that when it's put up to Brendan like the post above, it's completely ignored by him. Same deal in the Firmino thread and same deal in the Gen Gen thread.

What's that all about Brendan?

Yeah, its gone hilarious now. Surley the mods knew this would happen. Its been the same on this and about 729 other Liverpool forums before.

Back on topic, Horrenderson was fine for ages and I'm sure it will be again. A footy club of our stature shouldn't be buying kids who clearly aren't good enough, throwing them in the deep end and waiting four years while they learn how to be boss. But whatever, he's playing very well now.

They probably ask on the application form if you can possibly ever admit to being wrong about anything ever or would even the idea of showing the most remote piece of humility shatter the pathetic ego that only you give a tiny shit about. A truly determined McKenziesque answer results in a position on the board.

Time for some humble pie. Henderson has been one of our most consistent players this season so far.
Really didn't think he'd adapt to that defensive role. Took him a few games to get it right, his positioning is a lot better, he's winning the ball, tackling and distributing. Of course he isn't perfect but he absolutely looks the part.

Gonna take a slice of that humble pie off your hands there.

I didn't think he'd do nearly as well there either, he learned very quickly.

In many ways I think the restraint he showed when playing as a more attack minded midfielder helps him, he's extremely aware positionally. His tackling has improved as well, although he'll always pick up bookings, which is par for the course.

So Hendo has silenced some of the haterz it seems. Well done to him, and to those who have seen the light.
