According to Sport article Real offered him to us in the Alonso deal and Benitez liked the idea but we needed the cash and there was something about a permit (but he actually has a European passport so i dont know how true this is)

The article says he will be made available in January as Florentino Perez doesn't consider him an important player (despite scoring 22 goals in 34 games last season, 32 in 74 overall) he is behind the Galatico's in the pecking order. His likely destination is still England according to the report and he is valued in the 15 million euro range.

So I guess we will see if Puslow is serious about making money available for Benitez because we could do with another striker.

I love Higuan. Hes top class. If that deal was available we're dicks for not taking it.

looks as though we wouldn't have got purple aqui if we had, though.

I made a thread about him in the summer. Thought he was pants when he first arrived (after we'd been linked quite heavily with him - the summer before?), but he's matured into a fine player and if Real are really thinking about selling him, they're mad.

For 15M? In a heartbeat.

I think Mark Mc said something along similar lines a month or so ago. Real had offered a player in part exchange and Rafa was keen but our owners via Purslow weren't, for reasons that became obvious later.
I guess he was right.
I doubt if we will see Higuain or any other big money signings in January.
Id be very happy with a combo of these players in January-Upson, Mexes, Silva, Gourcuff, Higuan, Villa, Lennon, Diarra.
I expect a combo of-Wheater, Heskey, McGeady and Cattermole.
Well hardly. The players ive mentioned are realistic. Higuan and Diarra are now fringe players at madrid, Roma and Bordeaux would sell. Harry Redknapps a known wheeler and dealer, and the Valencia lads are perenial leavers of their club. Its hardly like theyre 'money cant buy' players.
Youre 3 are just silly.

I doubt he is.

Him, and to an extent Robben were the only real threat to us at times in that tie last year, like what I saw.

He'd be perfect for us, playing behind Torres. Didn't realise he was so young either.

Think we have a certain Mr. Gerrard who plays there boy!!

Diarra has played regularly this season and whilst Higuain has been rotated in and out, I wouldn't say he's a fringe player.

Gourcoff only signed for Bordeaux in the summer, it'd take a huge bid to prise Mexes away from Roma and Silva / Villa would require bids in excess of 25M.

And we're taking a combo out of this lot?

Can't wait for our 50M spending spree.

I think it's clear he means one or more of the list of players, when he says combo. Obviously i can't speak on his behalf, but i have a feeling he would be happy with just one....That is a very realistic possibility on any of his listed set of players, but we are never going to buy Messi.

Besides it's a wish list. Honestly, does anyone dream about driving a Volkswagen Golf one day? So there is no need to temper anyone's wishlist.....and i have no idea what i'm doing replying to this post.
