Out till next month and played well in the LB position under Rogers, when he returns and is fit should he resume that role and supersede Moreno?

He's been out for a year, if Henderson, Sturridge and Flanno are anything to go by, it'll be ages before he's up to speed again. I'm not sure he'd be our longterm solution there anyway, he's a centre back doing a job there.

He's not a left back. I realise Milner's not either, but he'd do a better job there than Gomez. I think Milner will start at LB against Arsenal (and quite possibly in most of the big matches away from home), but Moreno is set to start the vast majority of our matches at LB whether we like it or not.

And before that, with Kelly.

If he's fit and in form he he should start ahead of Moreno. At his age he just needs games. The position doesn't bother me too much. Better to be playing LB than on the bench waiting for a CB to get injured.

But given the length of time he has out we shouldn't expect much from him this season. I'm sure we're all universally agreed is that the best thing Klopp could do for the club right now is sign a defensively sound LB.

I think he'll be a very good footballer, for an 18 year to be able to play in an unnatural position and perform better than our actual LB spells talent.

His future is clearly at CB though but it'll be a while until we see him back.

what did Cards to say Neville? It went something like rb/lb are failed centre backs.

Neville was exactly that, though the failure in question was the best thing that could have happened to his career.

There are some top-notch CBs who started out as full-backs – Bayern's Boateng for example. Maybe Gomez fits into this category. Hope the injury doesn't affect him long-term like it did Flanno.
