Just up on SkyNews now. At 12.38pm the page was updated saying that the jury had just retired and at 12.50pm it has him not guilty.

I know most people were quite sure that it wouldn't be too hefty a sentance if he was found guilty, but this is a huge relief regardless. Gerrard has admitted in the past his game has suffered when he's had things hanging over him.
I'm glad this had been resolved and we can now draw a line under it and get on with next season. Stevie will be PFA player of this season.

Feel free, Foxy. I've just sent it to a Manc friend of mine, an ex-prosecuting solicitor as it happens, who e-mailed me only this morning that he thought Stevie's only chance was the Ken Dodd defence. That'll teach the fecker.
