germany vs spain

If Spain score in the first half the Germans will have to play higher up the pitch and the Spanish midfield will "pick them off" - I'll stay with my 3-0 prediction.

Germany cant get near them at the minute

They won't need to, they are a counterattacking team, and little more, it's just exposed more when they play a team of Spain's quality. Germany could easily win off a corner, despite Spain showing all of the initiative.

That's why I'm supporting Spain.

So because he's been dropped for being poor for Spain, he'd then hand in a transfer request? Why?

Tongue in cheek. Though there may in fact be an element of truth ... a happy Torres may be more likely to stay at least another year, an unhappy Torres (if say Spain lose this semi or the final) and he may be more tempted to want to go somewhere with a greater chance if success.

He may quite rightly think to himself that if he leaves to go to a team that doesn't play around him, he won't enjoy any of the individual performances he's seen under Liverpool, which are the chief basis of his reputation anyway.

In that Spanish attack there were SIX Germans on the edge of the penalty area in a perfect line, talk about parking the bus.

Germany have dragged this game to their style of play a bit more now, which isn't good for Spain.

I did think Spain looked better without Torres, but not with a player like pedro, but Llorente, who gives them a bit of substance in attack.

Llorente seems like he has a little more strength, it might encourage them to knock it in the box rather than keep hold of the ball and play around stupidly with free kicks.

Very close to 1-0 to Germany. That may well have killed the game so close to halftime.

Ozil went down like a sack of shit. What a cunt.

I hate Germany, they've shown absolutely nothing in attack but could well be ahead. I know it's effective given the speed of their counter, I just don't like it.

nah sorry ... I think Pedro's had an excellent game so far, the pass that put Villa through was ace and he's been very lively around the box. Spain need to cut out the high, floaty crosses - they have no-one that can challenge Meatsack in the air, and concentrate on getting wide and putting in more of those low hard crosses behind the defence a la the one Puyol stupidly put over.

Exactly. I'm not sure why they are persisting with it.

How on earth did that not end up in the German net? Spain deserve by miles to be a goal up, but we all now how that ends up.

Villa should have tucked that away nice and easy, huge fuck up from him.

Get torres on 😉

How on earth Spain are not ahead is an Agatha Christie mystery.

Great play from Iniesta & Pedro.

Alonso is lording it out there at times.

Kroos could scored there a min ago.

Does Villa ever make a positive run when the ball is coming in from a wide position? He just seems to hold his position and wait for a cutback. How about getting into the six yard box? It seems remarkable given his goal-scoring record but he's had SO many opportunities to do it in this game and passed them up every time. Ridiculous.

YES!!!!

Puyol puts it in. That was fucking justice. Ironic that Spain get it on a corner.

That was a beast of a header.
