Hahaha. Back in 2019 the video of our drive through the city in an open-topped bus with No.6 began with everyone boarding the bus at Melwood, and Jürgen was already at least two sheets to the wind when he got on. 😀
Southgate knows this and that's prolly why he will use the flanks. Dont be surprised, if England plays a counter-attacking game and hit long balls to the flanks to Sterling and Saka to chase, like in every other match. Southgate's tactical element of surprise there.
It makes me tremendously proud TBH that my club is managed by a guy who's that human AND that good at his job.
Southgate's gone for caution over creativity, what a massive surprise.
You can't despise the guy more than I do, and I still want England to win. It's similar to the way I feel about Chavski but couldn't help being grudgingly relieved when Citeh didn't win the CL this year.
He's a coward, we all knew this.
Really would be annoyed if Germany managed to bottle this up.

Its a testament to how good this team is that a player rated at 100m like Grealish is only a sub.

As I said in the other thread, the team left on the bench probably beats the team that is starting.
Would've gone for Mount, Grealish and Hendo in Mid with Kane,Rash and Sterling as front 3. That front 6 is a good mix of pace, predator, with skill and stability in Mid. Just looks a bit of a mish mash by GS. But Germany aren't at their best but I'm not hopefull. The long ball to strikers sitting on the shoulder has been a big tactic in this comp. Go for 1-1..extra time..anything can happen
It's amazing how over hyped this (and all previous) England team is. The media have repeatedly told us that we have such a talented squad to choose from so it's something of a surprise that the team picked is full of average players.
If Liverpool could pick and choose any of the players from that starting lineup then I'd only pick Rice and Saka who'd still only get onto our bench to be honest. Weirdly there's 5 or 6 players on the bench that I'd rather have. Kane is a very good player but he hasn't got the legs to play in our team and Salah would never pass to him anyway so it'd be pointless.
Can't wait for the penalty shootout. This is the only match i've been excited so far and i dont even support the germans.
