As a weekly watcher of the show (& I really enjoy Lineker presenting and Wright/Shearer analyzing each game) I'm fully on Gary's side here....can fully see BBC reaching out to him via his agent and telling him he won't be on the show until further notice. Gary loves doing the show and I stand by his tweet his put out yesterday about looking forward to presenting tomorrows edition.

I'm not 1 for following politics at all and I know he has a lot to say for himself on the subject & can be made to look outspoken or controversial so I can also see the 2nd part of that tweet being true.......and the way I see it any tweet you put out there on politics, especially the UK as it is now very divided, you're going to get a tonne of support on one hand and a tonne shit of abuse on the other.

Sometimes it's good to remind yourself that the UK is, at it's core, a right wing shit hole. I don't know the numbers, but the majority of governments in the last 80 odd years have been tory cunt governments. It's just the odd labour government every 10-12 years.

The BBC never help themselves in these situations. They are essentially saying that Lineker can’t express his personal opinions whilst still being employed by the BBC, but you can be absolutely certain that loads of other people who are or have been employed by the BBC will have been very open about their opinions in a similar fashion. You simply can’t maintain a line like this consistently with a huge organisation like the BBC.

I don’t really even know what Lineker’s political views are because, guess what, I don’t really care. I know he is a good presenter on Match of the Day, and that’s that really.
