To be fair to the lone nutter, his hero thinks we should all inject bleach and shine sunlight up our arses to protect ourselves from COVID, so is it any wonder he ends up with football opinions like this

Ah, is he a Trumptard?

No - Donovan showed himself up as a MAGA in another thread, where he was espousing the far right theory that COVID was just a conspiracy theory. At least I think that was him, but if it wasn't I'll apologise really quietly

I though it was his nephew who believed it all to be some 5G nonsense?

Just searched - it was ctlovesread, not Donavan

I am really really sorry

I don't think that's what ctlovesred was saying. My recollection is that he accepts the virus is a thing and that his concern centres on the way governments are making use of it to curtail a whole range of individual freedoms. I've heard that concern echoed across the political spectrum..

I hope Gomez is allowed to settle back into the CB role alongside Virge. His agent wants him to go back to London and has been discussing possible deals for more than a year now. When Matip was playing last season the agent was constantly trying to unsettle Gomez and urging him to go somewhere that would guarantee him a regular place. I think he's pretty happy here but it won't take much to get him thinking of moving if there's another spell on the sidelines.

Not disbelieving you for a second, genuinely curious as to why his agent would want him to go back to London? Inevitably boils down to money I would imagine, if that was the case surely he'd just be pressuring Liverpool into a better deal?

The agent - John Morris - thinks - thought (this is from last season) he has more or less sorted out deals that will be really lucrative for both of them. He aso knows/knew that Gomez, while liking where he is, still misses London. So I guess whenever Gomez is at all frustrated, like he was when Matip kept him out, the agent (then at Key Sports, now at Wasserman) will be niggling away in the background. He's just, sort of, doing his job. I think many players are always planning these kinds of things (Salah's agent is tirelessly 'up to stuff'), so it doesn't mean that much, unless and until the player starts to feel peripheral.

Ah, someone who reads!

My grandad used to watch footy, he had two seasons tickets one for him and one for his mate who was not blind and so used to tell him what was happening on the pitch.

Reminds me of the one about the blueslime running a competition for their fans. First prize, a season ticket. Second prize, two season tickets.

Ha!! No straight up my Gramps did that! Although I was using the story to point out that to failing to notice Gomez is top quality is indicative of blindness, my Grandad went blind in his early forties and he'd been going to Molyneux his whole life with his mates... he continued to do so even after he went blind and in order to do so he bought double season tickets so his mate would watch for free and tell him what was happening.

Because we retain our best players and our pursuit of players also means shelling out in agents fees
